‘Captain America: Civil War’ Official Concept Art Unveiled; Latest Rumor Suggests Major Character’s Death

Marvel welcomed 2016 with a treat to fans. The studio just released the official concept art for the upcoming superhero action movie “Captain America: Civil War.”

According to Comic Book, the concept art titled ‘Heroes Collide’ was illustrated by in-house artists Ryan Meinerding and Andy Park.

In it, the Avengers are showing the great divide as members of Team Cap battle out with members of Team Stark.

Chris Evan’s titular Captain America battling it out with Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man is the center of the illustration.

Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, can be seen fighting Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, is taking on Vision, played by Paul Bettany, while Anthony Mackie’s Falcon is pitted against War Machine, portrayed by Don Cheadle.

Sebastian Stan’s Bucky also makes an appearance in the official concept art. The Winter Soldier tussles with Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther.

One interesting portion of the graphic is Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. The character is in the concept art but appears to be the odd man out.

While other Avengers are up against their friends-turned-foe, Hawkeye can be seen alone and no one to battle with but ready to aim his bow and arrow.

Reports say that the concept art implies that Hawkeye’s loyalty is one to watch out for in the film. Clint Barton and his alter ego may find himself siding with either Iron Man or Captain America first then switches side the next.

Total Film magazine published the concept art last month, but Marvel Entertainment was the first one to release a high-quality version of it.

Many fans have already reacted positively to the concept art and most of them cannot wait before the film hits theaters on May 6.

“Captain America: Civil War” is the third stand-alone film in the Cap series and finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.

However, an incident resulting to collateral damage prompted the governments to install political pressure and a new system of accountability.

This new status quo fractures the Avengers and divides them into two — one led by Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other by Tony Stark, who surprisingly sides with the government to lead oversight and accountability.

Meanwhile, the latest rumor speculating that the much-awaited film suggests that the film will see the death of an important character.

According to Movie News Guide, when Marvel Studios said that “Civil War” is going to change a lot of things for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they probably weren’t kidding.

According to the website, the film will end in a funeral and the funeral will belong to none other than Captain America.

According to Melty, the upcoming film is rumored to document Steve Rogers’ demise just like in the comic book.

Contrary to the film’s trailer, reports say that Captain America, who leads the anti-government faction will be surrendering to officials as his team will raise the white flag.

Upon this, Rogers will state some terms to compromise with the government. The terms include asking the government not to hunt down anyone from his team once he is taken into custody.

Cinema Blend further speculates that Daniel Bruhl’s Baron Zemo could possibly be behind the death of Captain America.

The media outlet adds that Tony would be deeply affected by Cap’s death although the rest of the Avengers would be blaming him for Rogers’ death.

The death of Captain America may not ring well with the fans and while most of them probably cringe that the idea is a huge possibility, they still have four more months to wait if the rumors are indeed true or not.
