After carefully examining the lineup, it’s very strange that Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch cannot be found on any side of the battling teams. According to Vanity Fair, Scarlet may be another addition to Iron Man’s team as her character has a relationship with Vision on the comics which will pretty much play out in the film.
Although based on the film footage shown at this year’s D23 Expo, it can be assumed that she is siding with Rogers. In the clip, it was revealed that she is working with Captain America and Falcon to recruit Ant-Man.
Moreso, the fact that she saw through Iron Man’s head in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” implies that she doesn’t trust him. Also, she did bond with Hawkeye in the midst of the big battle last time.
Reports say that her absence from the concept art was because the character’s addition to the latest film was last-minute, but speculations say that her character missing from both teams is all part of the mystery that she could be playing a double agent.
The latest entry to the Marvel cinematic universe film franchise and the third “Captain America” standalone movie is based on the comic book storyline “Civil War” and will see the return of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” directors and siblings Anthony and Joe Russo.
