“Call the Midwife” came back with a very exciting premiere of its fifth season, and fans are even more eager to see what’s coming up next in the production. There are various rumors about the contents of the upcoming episodes, but there wasn’t much official information around until now. Just recently, a small spoiler for the new season was released, claiming that Barbara is going to go through some difficult times with her job in the upcoming episode 2.
In addition to that, the new episode may see some drama from the last one spilling over, particularly with the child of Bernie and Rhoda Mullucks. There was a lot of commotion around that part of the story when it turned out that Bernie didn’t want to take the child in upon seeing how deformed it was born, and we don’t know where this part of the plot might head to next. It’s been implied that we haven’t seen the last of that issue however, and this might bring about some harsh changes in the layout of the show, introducing more tension between some characters.
There was a lot of change introduced in the first episode of the season and different characters were going through their own transitions, and it looked like the producers have lots of serious plans for pretty much every character. But now, their crosshairs are apparently on Barbara, who is going to get hit the hardest during episode 2 of the show. We are likely going to see her going through some very difficult times and it’s claimed that the writers are preparing something very challenging for her, but she’s one of the characters that could look the most interesting in a situation like this.
She will now have to deal with a case involving the wife of the dockworker, and that will apparently be the main source of her woes in episode 2. We don’t know the exact implications of that part of the plot, but there are claims that some secrets are going to come to light and there could be a lot of tension and overall drama between Barbara and some people around her.
Changes will keep rolling in with the new season, continuing in episode 2 – Sister Evangelina will also do some rather questionable things which will have their own consequences on the story, and according to the rumors, this could actually have deeper implications than most fans are guessing. In addition, we expect that there will be some interesting developments about her own character as well, as there has been a lot of talk about her lately, and it seems like the producers of the show might have something lined up for her as well. What that could be, we of course don’t know, and if past seasons of the show are to be of any indication, the producers will do a good job concealing their plans until they are ready to bring them to the public light.
Last but not least, what’s going on with nurse Crane and what is she hiding? This is another question that has been on the minds of most fans for some time now, and it looks like it will also be given an answer in episode 2 of the new season. Of course, fans have been going crazy trying to guess what they are going to see, but we will find out soon enough.
