Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, Would the Fans Want This?

It’s also possible that these are just leftovers from an older system that was deprecated though, and many fans are hopeful that this is actually the case. Otherwise, Activision will manage to ruin something which was practically one of their easiest sales in many years.

Last but not least, some fans suspect that the franchise as a whole might be on its way out. This gets repeated year after year to be fair, but the release of “Infinity Warfare” made it clear that players have been losing interest in the games quite a lot.

With that in mind, some expect that there may not even be a new game next year, although this won’t necessarily mean that the franchise is being shut down. It could simply indicate that Activision are moving towards a more spread-out style of development, similar to the “Battlefield” franchise.

This is something that many of their players have been advising them to do for a long time now, but it might already be too late after everything that’s happened with the series. But who knows, maybe if gamers are left for a whole year without any “Call of Duty” in sight, they might start to reevaluate their attitude to the franchise. A brief pause may be all fans need in order to have their interest in the series revived, so maybe this won’t be a bad move on Activision’s part at all.
