It is certainly not the newest title in the first-person shooter “Call of Duty” video game franchise but “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered is the biggest and most valuable bonus content ever for game publisher, Activision Publishing.
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision, recently described that this year’s remastered version of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” is its biggest bonus content ever because the original game is actually one of the greatest of all time, cites the Express of UK.
Hirshberg said that they have had the collectors’ editions in the past that have been creative and well-received by fans and gamers but the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered shall actually take the place of things in the past like the night-vision goggles, GoPro action cameras, or Juggernaut refrigerator for the players’ game rooms.
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered shall be released along with the new game in the franchise, the “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” in November this year with the official title “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.”
In fact, that may have caused speculations that Activision would not be releasing the remastered version of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” this year and shall instead focus first on releasing the digitally improved version of the first game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.”
A perfect combination
Hirshberg is also confident that the combination launch of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” and the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered would be warmly received and satisfy both sets of fans.
He said that they are thrilled to offer the two games to the gaming community because they know that there are people who love and appreciate that classic gameplay in addition to the fact that it also satisfies most of its fans, no matter what style of gameplay they may be looking for.
The Activision CEO said that the combination of the two games was really what has driven them. He explained that the company now has a new creative vision for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” paired with one of their most beloved games brought to life in a new way.
He added that it was something that they wanted to do for the fans, to offer a package that has something for everyone.
The caveat to the classic game
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered shall contain the original campaign, as well as the 10 classic multiplayer maps including Crash, Backlot, and Crossfire.
But the caveat to the Activision bundle is that the remastered version will only be available as part of the “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions.
PlayStation owners can actually get the opportunity to get early access to the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered campaign by pre-ordering “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.”
Last month, Activision released more than seven minutes of footage from “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered and it featured one of the most iconic missions in the entire series, entitled “Crew Expendable,” reports Digital Trends.
The mission shines because of its simplicity featuring a quick and quiet breach into a ship combined with a radio chatter and a slow and methodical pace which is something that can no longer be seen in most first-person shooter video games today.
Critics recently had a closer look at the “Crew Expendable” mission in “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Remastered and the review is quite excellent, assuring gamers of Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 , that they can play through the game with better graphics and new physics in the current generation gaming consoles and the PC.
