Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Second DLC ‘Eclipse’ to Feature a Special Multiplayer Map Called ‘Verge’

The second DLC for the first-person shooter video game “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,” entitled “Eclipse,” will be coming out officially on April 19.

According to reports, the new DLC is going to be full of add-ons that gamers of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” would sure like to have and enjoy, reports Breathecast.

Based on the short video clip released by game publisher Activision recently, “Eclipse” will actually feature a special multiplayer map called as the ‘Verge.’

A previous video provided a quick look at the Verge, which is a re-imaged version of the classic “Call of Duty: World at War” map, Banzai.

Apparently, gamers who have been familiar with “Call of Duty: World at War” shall be very excited to get their hands on this new feature that comes with the DLC because it shall actually contain a map that features tunnels, waterfalls, and environment with a lot of abandoned trucks.

Gamers need to be extra careful

The second DLC of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” shall also include Spire, which is a sub-orbital and futuristic battle. It has multiple levels and looks rather precarious so gamers need to be extra careful with their step, notes VG 24/7.

There is also Rift, which takes place in a futuristic military complex which is set above a caldera, or volcanic crater. The only way is forward on the map, but it will provide players with core movement opportunities across the suspended rail system.

The other map, called Knockout, takes place in a Shaolin Temple with a 1970s-styled interior. A video for it has not been released.

Reports also have it that the DLC shall also bring a zombies game mode which shall be taking place at an experimental research facility located at an isolated place in the Pacific Island.

The prologue video for the zombie experience is called as ‘Zetsubou No Shima.’ In it, the characters find themselves stranded on a Pacific Island, home to the secret biological research lab Division 9.

Coming to PlayStation 4 first

“Eclipse” will officially arrive on April 19 but it shall only be available on the PlayStation 4. Activision has yet to announce the release of the new DLC on the PC and the Xbox One.

The DLC would cost $15 so those who opted to get the season pass actually gets significant savings because the pack is worth $50 inclusive of all the four DLCs coming to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” within one year.

Meanwhile, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” continues to make video game history when the November 2015 report of the NPD came out and cited the game as the No. 1 selling game in North America since 2013.

Game publisher Activision proudly made the announcement, staking its claim to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” as the biggest release of any retail video game title in the North American continent in three years.

The game publisher went on to state that “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” also beat all other new video game releases in November 2015 by a wide margin.

Rob Kostich, senior vice president and general manager of Activision, says that “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” is the largest release of any video game title based on physical units sold at the retail beginning with its launching month in November last year.

Kostich said that the good news is that there is a tremendous momentum for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” during the Holiday season.

When game developer Treyarch Studios unravelled “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” in November last year, nearly every gamer grab onto it and played their hearts out and generated $550 million in sales during its opening weekend.

Game publisher Activision announced that “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” posted the biggest entertainment opening not only in the company’s history but across any media industry last year, even out-pacing “Jurassic World,” and “Fast & Furious 7,” as well as some other movie blockbusters of 2015.
