Price will be another factor major factor for many players as well, as it’s not certain how much Activision are going to charge for this game, and if it will match players’ expectations.
The studio seems to have some strange ideas about pricing, and their games lose their value very slowly. Given the age of “Call of Duty 4”, Activision should be very careful with how much they charge for the game, as players can easily see it as a rip-off.
On the other hand, we also suspect that the game will eventually not only be available on its own, but also at a good discount at one of the Steam sales. So players who want to relive the single player experience should at least have an adequately priced opportunity to do that.
That doesn’t do much to answer the situation with the multiplayer though. It’s entirely possible that the lobbies of “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered” will be basically empty just a few weeks after the game’s release, and this depends largely on how Activision are going to handle it. If the game offers some proper modding support though, it could actually live on for a long time. The community of “Call of Duty” fans has shown that they can support and care for their favorite titles for quite a long time, given the right tools for the job.
