Call of Duty 3 Added to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility List, Does the Game Still Offer Good Value? Let’s See

Players have been quite excited to see the “Call of Duty 4” remaster, and it actually seems to be drawing even more attention than the main launch for this year, somewhat ironically.

It’s gotten to the point where some players are apparently disappointed that the game won’t be available as a standalone release, as they would prefer to play it instead of “Infinite Warfare”. We can imagine that there are many people feeling like that right now, if not just due to nostalgia alone.

And while we do expect Activision to release the game on its own a few months later, that will definitely not happen around the release of “Infinite Warfare”. It would be a disaster if the remaster manages to sell more than the new game in the series, and this could even undermine fans’ trust in the franchise.

On the other hand, it will be a bad situation for Activision as it will prevent them from selling DLC for the new game in such large volumes. The company relies to a large extent on these additional content sales, and they actually make up a significant volume of the overall profits brought in by the “Call of Duty” franchise.

There could be DLC for the “Modern Warfare” remaster, sure, but it’s more likely that the company will just focus on producing new content for their latest release, and will keep the remaster active for a while through bug fixes and simple updates.
