Caitlyn Jenner has been involved in some controversy in the media lately, after she made a comment regarding her make-up which was apparently taken as inappropriate by Kim Kardashian, and resulted in the latter criticizing Jenner over what she had said. In the end, the conflict died down a little bit, but it did draw attention from both sides – people interested in the lives of Jenner and Kardashian alike were quite curious about the whole incident.
According to the original comment made by Jenner, she was forced to wear make-up all the time by Kim Kardashian, who had told her that she must never show her face without make-up or she risks getting a bad shot by paparazzi, and subsequently having her image affected negatively. In the end, Jenner apparently felt trapped in this part of her identity and she didn’t feel right having make-up on her face all the time.
Kardashian had apparently told her that if someone got a shot of her without make-up, that would be the shot that’s used in the media for her forever, and that’s something she shouldn’t allow to happen. On the other hand, Kardashian responded that she never actually told Jenner that she is required to do anything in particular – according to her, it was more of a friendly suggestion based on her own experience and knowledge of the celebrity world.
On the other hand, some publications have also noted that Jenner shouldn’t even feel so bad about having to wear make-up even if that were true, as she has a lot of resources at her disposal to ensure that she looks her best at all times, and she doesn’t really have anything to worry about when it comes to maintaining her appearance with relatively little effort.
Many members of her own family actually have experience with beauty and cosmetics, as some have pointed out, and it doesn’t make much sense for her to worry over this too much. Of course, it could be that she simply doesn’t enjoy the idea of wearing make-up too much, and some women prefer to always go with a plain look that doesn’t utilize any cosmetics whenever they can. And in the end, that’s a personal choice and there is nothing wrong with the idea.
But it doesn’t really sound like Kardashian was trying to force her views on Jenner, and that’s the general sentiment repeated by most members of the press. It does sound like this is a situation that has gotten blown a bit out of proportion, but that’s not so rare in the world of celebrities after all. Especially when it comes to high-ranking stars, and even more so when the situation involves a controversial topic, such as Jenner’s gender transition. This has been a very hot topic in the press for some time now, and she likely isn’t going to see people letting go of those discussions soon – and she will hopefully use that situation to further the cause of people undergoing gender transitions.
Kim Kardashian actually offered her services to Caitlyn Jenner with regards to her make-up, for what it’s worth, and it would be interesting to see the star sharing some experience with Jenner and teaching her how to get the most out of her looks. According to many people commenting on the issue, Jenner does have a lot of potential to pull off a great look if she is given the right set of make-up.
