Buster Is Back for Arrested Development Season 5, Confirmed by Tony Hale

News about “Arrested Development” keeps getting better and better, as we’ve now gotten confirmation that everyone will be back on board for the new season, according to Tony Hale. While we’re yet to see an official statement by any other actors, Hale’s statement is a pretty clear indicator that we’re about to see all our favorite characters back on the screen, including fan favorite Buster played by Tony Hale himself.

The show has had an interesting run. Its fourth season came as a bit of a surprise, and caught some fans off-guard as it was done in a different style than the first three seasons. Still, most fans were just happy to see the show continuing and weren’t so bothered by the change of theme in the end. And while it was strongly believed that season 4 would be the end of the production, we recently got the confirmation that a fifth season is underway.

It would certainly be good to see the news confirmed by other actors as well, but Tony Hale would probably not make such a claim unless he was sure about it in the first place. Plus, the show would be quite weird if even just one character was missing from the line-up, so the producers would likely not move forward with the project unless they were sure that they would have the original cast on board.

We also don’t know how the new season will be structured. There were some mixed responses to the style of season 4, with some fans claiming that it felt too different and not in a good way, while others apparently enjoyed the new episodes a lot. In the end, many fans were just happy to see the show revived, and took the new episodes with pleasure.

There have been some rumors that the new season 5 will be closer to the original episodes of the show though, precisely because the producers have been paying attention to fan responses to the last season and they want to avoid their mistakes. And in the end, the fourth season wasn’t that bad on its own, it just introduced some changes to the style of the show too quickly.

Arrested Development Season 5

It’s also not yet clear if the show will continue some of its inside jokes from the first seasons, or if it will focus on new material exclusively for season 5. A major part of the style of “Arrested Development” is the fact that the show’s humor is almost entirely based on inside jokes, which can make it a bit difficult for people to get into it in the middle of a season. And when it’s been off the air for a while, that might not be a smart approach.
