Brock Lesnar Return to UFC Almost Likely; Seen with Dana White at Cageside of UFC 184

As early as late last year, there have already been speculations that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to the UFC once his contract with the wrestling outfit ends after Wrestlemania 31 this March.

The rumors have only been fanned by several UFC fighters including Frank Mir and Brendan Schaub challenging Lesnar to fight them in the Octagon.

While there have been no official statements coming from Brock Lesnar himself or UFC president Dana White regarding supposed negotiations, it seems that the speculations have already been confirmed during the latest pay-per-view event of the UFC on March 1.

Brock Lesnar was at the cageside to watch UFC 184 and he was with Dana White, which somehow gives credence to reports that Brock Lesnar will indeed return to mixed martial arts once his contract expires with the WWE this month.

Parting ways again

Brock Lesnar appears to be on the verge of parting ways again with the WWE as he and WWE chairman Vince McMahon do not appear to have something going on at the table that would have Lesnar agreeing to a contract extension, cites MSN Sports.

As the current WWE Heavyweight Champion, Lesnar is under contract with the entertainment wrestling company until WrestleMania 31 scheduled on March 29, 2015. So the only time that he will be able to officially start talking about a possible return to the UFC is on March 30th, although it seems that talks have already began at this time.

Just to add more fuel to the rumor flames, UFC vice president of public relations Dave Sholler actually took a photo of Lesnar talking with Dana White and the image is now making good rounds in many internet news sites.

Should he decides to move away from the WWE, it would be the second time that Lensar would split from the outfit during his career and it would also be his second stint at the UFC. Early last month, Phil “CM Punk” Brooks also ended his contract with the WWE and moved to UFC.

Looking for challenges

Lesnar is currently on a good deal with the WWE as he makes good money amid his limited appearances. But given his knack for challenges, the thought that he would once again make a comeback to the UFC, the way he did for the WWE, has always been a possibility.

Amid battling an intestinal disease called diverticulitis on two occasions that somehow cut short his UFC career, the door remained open for Lesnar to come back to the sports.

With a 5-3 win-loss record in the UFC and a clean bill of health to boot, Lesnar would remain a major draw in the Octagon when he comes back.

While there is still no confirmation yet about Lesnar’s return to the UFC, Schaub has been announcing that he is ready to welcome back the former UFC heavyweight champion in his own way. Schaub was quoted as saying in an interview in January that if Lesnar comes back to the UFC, he would send him packing again to fake wrestling.
