Brendan Schaub Already Awaiting Brock Lesnar’s Return to the UFC? And More

After the recent crossover of Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) from the WWE, rumors are now swirling wildly that Brock Lesnar will be returning to the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) after his wrestling contract ends this March.

Brock Lesnar, as the current WWE Heavyweight Champion, is under contract with the entertainment wrestling company until WrestleMania 31 scheduled on March 29, 2015. So the only time that Brock Lesnar will be able to start talking about a possible return to the UFC is on March 30th.

Lesnar is also scheduled to be at the upcoming WWE pay-per-view event called Royal Rumble scheduled this coming January 25, 2015, where he is scheduled to battle it out with crowd-favorite John Cena.

Warmly waiting and wanting

While there is no confirmation yet about Brock Lesnar’s return to fight again in the Octagon, UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub is already awaiting Lesnar and wants to have the first crack at him if and when he comes back, reports Rappler.

Before Schaub, Frank Mir, the former UFC heavyweight champion, has already expressed his desire to fight Lesnar for the third time if and when he returns to the Octagon.

Since October last year, Mir, who is already on a semi-retirement, has been making pronouncements that he wants to fight again in the Octagon and would like to get a third and deciding match with Lesnar.

It can be recalled that Lesnar lost to Mir in his first ever UFC match through submission. He became the UFC Heavyweight Champion after beating Randy Couture in his third match. Lesnar’s first title defence was against Mir, whom he defeated in the second round via TKO.

Possibility of comeback

Brock Lesnar is currently on a good deal with the WWE as he makes good money amid his limited appearances.

But given his knack for challenges, the thought that he would once again make a comeback to the UFC, the way he did for the WWE, has always been a possibility.

Amid battling an intestinal disease called diveritculitis on two occasions that somehow cut short his UFC career, the door remained open for Lesnar to come back to the sports.

With a 5-3 win-loss record in the UFC and a clean bill of health to boot, a fight with an old nemesis would also mean big money, as well as new one like Brendan Schaub.

While there is still no confirmation yet about Lesnar’s return to the UFC, Schaub has been announcing that he is ready to welcome back the former UFC heavyweight champion in his own way.

In a recent TV interview, Schaub was quoted as saying that if Brock Lesnar comes back to the UFC, he would send him packing again to fake wrestling.
