After Angelina Jolie decided to undergo a medical operation last month to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes to avoid the cancer gene from growing into her, rumors started going around that she and husband Brad Pitt are planning to adopt a child again.
Brangelina, as the couple is often referred to, is not about to extend their family to a possible ninth member, a source close to the pair said.
Brad Pitt and Angelina have six children – three are their biological children while the three others are their adopted children. Their biological children are Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, while their three adopted children are Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, details Yahoo! News.
A representative of the couple has step out to deny the rumors that the Hollywood couple are planning to adopt again, saying that those information are totally false and absolutely not true.
A health decision
Angelina’s decision to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed was meant more to ensure her health for the long term as she still wants to be with her children for a long time.
It was a preventive surgery that came after a double mastectomy two years ago, in a bold attempt to reduce her risk of getting cancer, since the disease runs on their blood. Her mother and her grandmother both died of ovarian cancer.
She also let Brad in on her decision and the actor threw his all-out support to his wife. He even had to cut his filming short abroad just be with his wife when she went under the knife.
Her medical decision also means that she will never be able to have another biological child again and she was practically pushed or forced into early menopause.
A growing family
While she was still single, Angelina Jolie adopted son Maddox. So when she and Brad Pitt decided to live together, the actor also became an important part of the boy’s life.
Angelina and Brad then adopted Zahara in 2005 and changed the last names of both Maddox and Zahara to Jolie-Pitt to represent their love for each other and their family.
One year later, Angelina gave birth to her first biological child by Brad Pitt, a boy they named Shiloh.
In 2007, they adopted Pax, an orphan from Vietnam and they also did the same to his surname. The following year, Angelina once again gave birth to twins – son Knox Leon and daughter Viviene Marcheline.
In a previous interview, Angelina admitted that she never thought that she would have a family of her own that she will be able to rear first hand.
Angelina said that since she came from a broken home, she never thought that she could have children or she could be in love. She never thought that she could meet the right person. She says that her life has been like a fairy tale. She did not look for it but it came to her.
