Episode 8 of the American police procedural drama TV series “Blue Bloods” on CBS finally give fans what they have long been wanting for quite some time now.
The show finally made the relationship of Jamie Reagan, played by Will Estes, and Eddie Janko, played by Vanessa Ray, blossom into romance. As they are both officers of the New York Police Department, their relationship for the most part of “Blue Bloods” remained strictly professional, details Cartermatt.
Over the past seasons, Jamie and Eddie have kept their attraction to each other at bay for some time now. After all, they are good friends and works extremely well as partners.
But as they say, the heart always wants what it wants and that is what exactly happened in the eighth episode of Season 7 of “Blue Bloods.”
TV Fanatic thinks that Eddie was superb in the episode. She was right to say no to let Tara stay with her because letting a virtual stranger into her home can be dangerous no matter how good her intentions are and there was no predicting when or if Tara would indeed leave on her own.
Every time Eddie called Jamie awesome, she is actually hitting just the right notes of amusement, sarcasm, and jealousy.
And to her credit, she admitted to the jealousy and its underlying cause. Being honest about how she felt took a huge amount of courage.
No matter whether they act on them or not, knowing that they have these feelings for one another probably means they shouldn’t be partners, so this is going to get weird and difficult no matter what they choose.
Risking a child’s life while off duty
The episode also saw Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, dealing with the case of Sgt. James Reed, who risked his child’s life while on duty.
While it is true that every NYPD officer takes an oath to protect and serve even while off duty, but Sgt. Reed took the extra mile when he announced during a situation, while with his 10-year-old daughter that he was a police officer responding to a crime.
That certainly had bullets flying towards his direction, risking his daughter’s life in the process.
That hallway may have been only 10 feet away but his child could have frozen or screamed. Moving from that spot in that moment put her life in danger.
It was surreal a subplot and the only upside was that the story gave viewers one of the best “Blue Bloods” quotes of all time when Frank said that he can’t speak for himself and his daughter Erin Reagan-Boyle, played by Bridget Moynahan, said that hell just froze over.
Dating a rapist
Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg, and Liza has been telling colleague Emily Harrison that she is dating a rapist. They even showed her proof of their allegations through various photos. But she still continued dating Brandon.
Thus, Danny was quoted as saying to Liza that if Emily wants to see the dirt bag, there’s nothing that they can do about it because it is her choice.
Emily probably has not been in her right mind since the rape occurred and going to Brandon’s home, with or without the gun, was definitely not a sound decision. Considering all of the circumstances, it was a case viewers would not mind going to trial.
It was just a relief when Frank pointed out to Erin that she could do something about Emily’s shoddy defense, which is quite surprising when Erin did not come to that conclusion on her own. As Erin eventually pointed out, sometimes there’s a difference between the law and justice.
Meanwhile, the upcoming ninth episode of “Blue Bloods” Season 7 entitled “Confession” will be airing on November 18, and many are saying that it is one of the episodes that will take center stage and be most exciting to fans.
The synopsis of the upcoming episode details that Frank is left with minimal information to find a missing boy when a conflicted priest who could help won’t break the seal of confession.
Also, Danny and Baez investigate the death of a prominent New York City socialite with a secret life, and Jamie and Eddie attend a wedding together.
