Meanwhile, the assassin places a chemical bomb inside the elevator. Patterson attempts at defusing the bomb’s chemical reaction that will result in an explosion using hand sanitizers. However, the bomb is set off when she cuts the wrong wire, and she gets injured in the process.
In the end, Rich is taken into custody, and Kurt calls the correctional facility asking them to take him in. However, Rich and his partner, have together thought of a plan for his escape. His boyfriend pretends to be a correctional officer, hires two large men who pretend to be guards and takes Rich away.
Patterson however, sees through his devious ways. Kurt and his team quickly stop the car carrying the hacker and capture him for real.
Zapata sneaks into the evidence room in the police station and takes the envelope containing the knife. When she feels that she is safe with the evidence, in the car, she takes the knife out from the envelope. It’s Freddy’s knife, not Reade’s, who is Coach Jones’ killer.
The episode 7 of Blindspot ends with Roman getting a 911 page from the infiltrator they planted in the FBI. Roman reaches at their decided dead drop and discovers a replica of the downloaded content from the microchip that Jane had with her in Bradley Dynamics. The file consisting of a typed message affirming that Jane’s allegiances are with the FBI, not Sandstorm.
