The upcoming ninth episode of the American crime drama TV series “Blindspot” on NBC will be another of those high-octane episodes as it will feature Jane Doe, played by Jaimie Alexander, betraying her family and her terrorist organization known as the Sandstorm in an attempt to foil their impending attack on the FBI.
She has decided to alarm her team at the FBI regarding the planned attack by her family and the Sandstorm terrorist organization who also consider her as part of their team, notes Movie News Guide.
The upcoming episode is titled “Why Let Cooler Pasture Deform” and it will be airing on NBC on November 16.
Based on the episode synopsis, Jane will risk everything when she sends a secret SOS to her FBI team. But it looks like the story is more complicated than that.
One step ahead of the FBI
Despite her warning to the FBI, Sandstorm appears to be one step ahead. In fact, based on the teaser trailer for the upcoming ninth episode of “Blindspot” Season 2, Jane seems to have been caught playing double agent as she was seen strapped into a chair while Shepherd, played by Michelle Hurd, triggers an explosion.
The trailer also showed Patterson, played by Ashley Johnso, saying to her team that the enemy seems aware that they were coming.
Jane’s brother, Roman, played by Luke Mitchell, shall also be in hot water in the upcoming ninth episode of “Blindspot” Season 2.
Meanwhile, there are reports saying that a new character shall be joining the show for its future episodes. Apparently, the show has opened up an audition to cast a twenty-something female to play the role of Niki, who shall be the on-again-off-again girlfriend of Freddy, the friend of Edgar Reade, played by Rob Brown.
Reade’s life is about to be turned upside down with the arrival of Niki as he will have a messy fling with her while asking for the whereabouts of her boyfriend. However, the character Niki will only be appearing on episode 13 of “Blindspot” Season 2.
Pushing the Sandstorm season arc on the backseat
Incidentally, during the eighth episode of “Blindspot” Season 2 entitled “We Fight Deaths on Thick Lone Waters” that aired on November 9, the show deviated from its Sandstorm season arc to its typical case-of-the-week format via a random FBI case.
The episode saw Jane and Kurt Weller, played by Sullivan Stapleton, going undercover as part of a heist taking place at a political summit. But the plan goes haywire and the team is left scrambling to get Kurt and Jane out of a jam, details the Entertainment Weekly.
The episode essentially starts in the middle, fills in all the details, and then hurtles toward an intense conclusion.
The eighth episode also saw the return of Assistant US Attorney Matthew Weitz, played by Aaron Abrams, who was once the boyfriend of Tasha Zapata, played by Audrey Esparza.
Weitz has more than a shaky relationship with the FBI, seeing as though he was going after Mayfair back in Season 1.
Now he was back to monitor the current case and audit the team’s actions. But it turns out that a bomb going off outside of a major political summit tends to get Homeland Security involved. From there, the episode works backward a bit, filling the viewers in on just how the FBI got into the mess.
When Kurt and Jane go undercover, that left the rest of the team with no other choice but to interrogate two criminals who know where to find the two.
It was Jane who first showed up at the FBI while Kurt remained missing. Fortunately, NSA Agent Nas Kamal, played by Archie Punjabi, Kurt’s new lover, got an idea to get him back. But it’s not pretty and certainly not legal. Still, the team is a family and they just did what is needed to be done to get Weller back.
