Blindspot Season 1 Episode 16 Featured Jane Grappling with a Confusing Memory of Weller, More Details

The premiere season of the American crime drama TV series “Blindspot” on NBC is building up momentum for a major Season 1 finale in the next few weeks.

During the show’s 16th episode, entitled “Any Wounded Thief,” that aired on April 4, it was shown that Jane Doe, played by Jaimie Alexander, is grappling with a rather confusing memory of FBI agent Kurt Weller, played by Sullivan Stapleton, notes Variety.

But the episode also showed how adorable Jane and Kurt can be together. In fact, Weller actually showed how much Jane meant to him when he literally gave his life to her.

Kurt injected her with his antidote when that meant that he would die a very painful death in a minute unless Jane figures out how to get another one in a few seconds. It was a very telling proof of how important Jane is to his life.

The Weller and Jane drama was a slow burn but when they are on screen together, the undeniable sexual tension is at an all-time high, notes TV Fanatic.

There is also the love triangle when Oscar, played by Francois Arnaud, got thrown into the mix and he seems to be getting the better of the competition as he and Jane do have the chemistry together.

Jane and Oscar kiss a lot and they sleep together too although Oscar and his motives are still shrouded in mystery. In fact, many fans of the show still don’t trust Oscar and are actually rooting for the Jane and Weller relationship to progress.

Body count continues to rise

“Blindspot” is also a TV series that is not concern about killing off characters in most of its episodes.

The show has already seen plenty of casualties during its current premiere season but one of the cruelest early deaths was the loss of Patterson’s boyfriend David, played by Joe Dinicol.

David was killed back in episode 9 of “Blindspot.” In fact, the death of David was keenly felt during episode 16 as Patterson, played by Ashley Johnson, still finds it difficult to move on. She was just fortunate that Dr. Borden, played by Ukweli Roach, is on hand to offer her some wisdom at no cost.

The episode also showed an armored truck being robbed and the team discovers that the stolen goods are chemical weapons and they must race to thwart a terrorist plot.

Interesting flashbacks

Another interesting element of episode 16 was the flashbacks about Jane’s past. The tattoo cases seem to have run out of steam in providing information about Jane’s past so the flashbacks seem to be the better option.

For the fans of “Blindspot,” seeing Jane getting more information about her past is a goldmine so the producers should consider it making a component of the remaining episodes of the TV series.

During the midseason premiere of “Blindspot” on February 29, Oscar claimed that he knows Jane Doe and her real name is Taylor Shaw and that it was the FBI who was responsible for causing her amnesia.

He also told her that he knows her that well because he was her boyfriend and that she was actually the one who worked on erasing her own memory to protect herself. Only the tattoos all over her body leave clues to her mysterious past.

Oscar also told Jane/Taylor to trust him because they will work together in retrieving her complete memory, leaving FBI Agent Kurt Weller out in the cold.

However, fans and viewers of “Blindspot” believe that the existence of Oscar may actually contribute in further muddling the past of Jane Doe rather than help her get her memory back. Some have the opinion that the sudden emergence of Oscar is meant as a twist to the great storytelling of “Blindspot.”

Because of Oscar’s claims, Jane/Taylor has since been working closely with him even though at the onset, she actually did not believe him. In fact, Oscar had to strap her in a platform and forcefully made her watch a video of Taylor.

The person in the video even said that while it may be hard for her to trust Oscar, the same person also claims that Oscar is merely following the order which she gave before she succumbed to amnesia.
