BlackBerry Q20 vs. BlackBerry Q10 Review: Scaling it on the Evolution Table

As is the trend with all Smartphone legacies, we have a ritual of stretching the cords and speculating the features of the Phone till the last moment the company officially gives a statement. Such is the case with the hyped Blackberry Q20, which was scheduled to release in November 2014.

Recent news suggests that the BlackBerry Classis or Q20 release date have been rescheduled to the first quarter of 2015. While this may not be good news for the wannabe buyers of the phone, but it is a room for comfort for all the mind-players who take advantage of such a situation and spread rumors.

To break the ice, we have decided to do a speculated feature comparison of BlackBerry Q20 against its predecessor – the Q10. There are many prototype images of the BlackBerry Q20 on the internet and from what we have scrutinized, the classic physical navigation trackpad with robust keys is going to be back in action.

Speaking of display the Q10 has a brilliant 3.1-inch display, which gives enough room to play for the users. The handset has a resolution of 720 x 720 px @ 330ppi. The BlackBerry Q20, being the successor, has very steep expectations from the users. The phone will supposedly feature a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 1440 px @ 582ppi.

Not much is said about the memory capacity of the Q20, but we guess it will be available in a 32GB model. In terms of processor speed, both the phones have a dual core 1.5 GHz processor along with 2 GB of RAM. The Q10 supports NFC and 4G, and the Q20 will also support it.

Rumors are claiming that the BlackBerry Q20 will be moderately priced to cater to the business class. It is clearly understandable that BlackBerry will try to replicate the success of BlackBerry Passport in the BlackBerry Classis. From what the Koreans and California opponents seem to be cooking every day, it is high time BlackBerry buckles up and delivers beyond expectations.

Both the phones are QWERTY models, and the BlackBerry Q20 is rumored to be powered by BlackBerry’s unreleased OS 10.3 while the BlackBerry Q10, runs on BlackBerry OS 10.

BlackBerry Q20 vs BlackBerry Q10

From what we see in the images, the model Q20 is a bit thinner than the Q10. All-in-all, BlackBerry Q20 will live up to the expectations, but we still feel that the phone could do with a more powerful processor. It would open up a room for new opportunities.
