There has been a considerable amount of debate over the performance standards of Blackberry phones and iPhones over the years. However with the release of the iPhone 6, those in favor of Blackberry, has become a bit docile. In this article, we see if the Blackberry Q20 and the Passport – the latest smartphones from Blackberry – can take on the Apple iPhone 6. Design:

As far as design specs are concerned, the BlackBerry Q20 vs. Apple iPhone 6 vs. BlackBerry Passport riff becomes easy. iPhone owners will be very happy as the device clearly outruns Blackberry in this regard. While the Blackberry Passport sports a rather chunky bit of design, the Q20 is a good looking QWERTY smartphone.

The iPhone 6 is elegant and classy with its 4.7 inches display unit and sleek body design. Both smartphones from Blackberry run on Blackberry 10 OS while the Q20 has the v10.3.1 upgrade handy. The iPhone 6 operates on iOS 8.0.

Display:

The Passport sports a 1440 x 1400 pixel resolution along with a 453 ppi pixel density. It uses an IPS LCD display unit that is 4.5 inches in dimensions. The screen bears 16M color definition with about 56% of the screen to body ratio. It has light sensors, as well as proximity sensors with a protective Corning Gorilla Glass cover.

The iPhone 6 has a total display unit of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. Its pixel density is 326 ppi with an IPS LCD screen. However, the screen to body ratio stands at 65.71%. For a protective cover, it has an Oleophobic coating with every important sensor.

With a capacitive touchscreen featuring 720 x 720 pixel resolution, the Q20 has 16M color definition and 291 ppi pixel density.

Hardware:

While the Passport uses a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 3 GB RAM, the iPhone offers a dual-core Apple A8 processor with 1 GB RAM and PowerVR GX6450 GPU. The Q20 boasts of a dual-core Qualcomm MSM processor.

Camera:

The Passport sports a 13 MP primary camera while both the iPhone 6 and Q20 have an 8 MP primary camera. Features such as auto focus and Geo tagging is available on all three devices along with video recording at 1080p. Secondary camera specs include a 2 MP camera on the Q20 and Passport while the iPhone 6 has a 1.2 MP front camera. LED flash is also included in all three.

Battery:

As far as battery is concerned, Passport has a 3,450 mAh battery while the iPhone 6 gets a 1,810 Li-Po mAh unit. The Q20, on the other hand, draws power from a 2,515 mAh Li-ion battery.
