The Q10 and the Q20 (also known as the Classic) are two of the greatest smartphones launched by Blackberry. Compared to many smartphone manufacturers today, Blackberry focused on their traditional aspects and churned out these two feature-packed smartphones. These are devices that every businessman or entrepreneur will surely wish to own. They are pocket-friendly, intuitive and packed with essential features. Let us take a look at technical specifications of both devices.
Blackberry Q10:
The Blackberry Q10 supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks with supported carriers. Although, it supports the latest bandwidths, keep in mind that this device has aged quite a bit. It was announced back in January 2013 and released on April, the same year. It has Blackberry’s trademark QWERTY keypad and weighs only 139 grams. It has a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. The display resolution is 720 x 720 pixels that are pretty sharp and vibrant owing to the 328ppi pixel density on a 3.1-inch screen.
While it has a QWERTY keypad, the touchscreen is advanced as well. It supports 10-finger multi-touch input. It comes with a 16GB internal memory while running on 2GB of RAM, which makes this device pretty fast and responsive in nature. Furthermore, the storage capacity can be increased to 64GB with a micro SD card. It also supports NFC but lacks a USB 3.0 port.
The primary camera is an 8 MP shooter, supporting an image resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. It has the basic camera features like autofocus and LED flash. Like most smartphones today, you have the geotagging and face-detection features built-in.
The rear camera can record full-HD 1080p videos at 30fps. In the meantime, the secondary 2MP camera can record 720p. It comes with the proprietary Blackberry 10 OS which is further upgradable to 10.2.1. It runs on the Snapdragon S4 for the LTE version and a TI OMAP 4470 for the Non-LTE version. It works on the Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait (LTE version) and Cortex-A9 for the Non-LTE. The GPU also differs with the LTE variant having an Adreno 225 and the PowerVR SGX544 on the non-LTE.
Blackberry Q20:
This device is yet to be released. However, it is being speculated for a November 2014 launch. It has a 3.46-inch screen with a display resolution of 720 x 720 pixels and a 291 ppi pixel density. Like its predecessor, it supports multi-touch input but has a lower ppi density owing to the larger screen with the same display resolution.
It has 16 GB of internal memory that is upgradable to 128 GB. It has the same rear camera and front camera as in the Blackberry Q10. The device will launch with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, developed on a Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset and runs on 2 GB of RAM.
