Disney Pictures has been very busy rolling out announcements since last week about sequels to its past animated films that made a killing in the box-office. First was the announcement about “The Incredibles 2” after nearly 12 years of wait.
Then early this week during a shareholder’s meeting, “Frozen 2” was officially announced, which was already expected for the 2013’s biggest animated film.
Last year, Disney’s biggest animated hit was “Big Hero 6.” The film, though not as successful as “Frozen” in 2013 or “The Incredibles” in 2004, still made money at the tills, raking in more than $500 million worldwide box-office haul. That is a lot of money in any film production language.
But instead of having the title of “Big Hero 6 Part 2,” the sequel is rumored to have a title of “Big Hero 7” because there will be an additional member to the cast of characters. However, the seventh character may actually be a villain at first but who will possibly become a member of the protagonists lead by Hiro Hamada and Baymax.
The villain
While Disney has yet to announce the sequel to “Big Hero 6,” there have already been widespread rumors in the internet alluding to the plot of “Big Hero 7.”
Crossmap explains that the “7” on the title emerged because the seventh character is apparently Tadashi Hamada, Hiro’s brother who died in “Big Hero 6” during an explosion in a science event.
Apparently, Tadashi survived the explosion and he will become the villain of sorts in the sequel. While he did die in the first movie, his body was never found so the writers would put a spin on the story to bring the character back to life on the sequel.
Accordingly, Tadashi was saved in the explosion by one of the inventions that were presented during the technological event. The invention that saved Tadashi has something to do with nuclear energy and that because of the power that the invention has given him, he will become Sunfire.
Sunfire’s history in Marvel comics
Sunfire is one of the original members of the first “Big Hero 6” in the comic books. He is also a prominent character in the Marvel universe.
The character has long existed even before he joined the original “Big Hero 6.” He is a member of the X-Men in the Marvel comic books and is often referred to as an ‘Uncanny Avenger.’
Basing on the original comic books, Tadashi as Sunrise will be a villain in “Big Hero 7.” But knowing Disney, it is likely that they will also put a spin on the character to turn Tadashi back to the good side and make him part of the “Big Hero 6. That is the reason why the title of the sequel is “Big Hero 7.”
Disney has yet to make an announcement to either confirm or deny “Big Hero 7” so at this time, these information remain as mere speculations.
