Disney and Marvel have already lined up the schedules of its upcoming films up to 2019 so it came as a major surprise when latest rumors sprung out of almost nowhere to say that “Big Hero 7” shall come out in cinemas in the third quarter of 2017.
There are three confirmed Marvel movies that will hit theaters next year. And they are “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” showing in May, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” releasing in July, and “Thor: Ragnarok” hitting theaters in November. “Big Hero 7” is not included in the list.
Not counting the three Marvel movies next year, which is also Disney, the entertainment conglomerate is set to release 13 films next year with the popular ones being “National Treasure 3” in January, “Beauty and the Beast” live-action in March, “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” in May, “Cars 3” in June, “Cruella” in December, and “Star Wars: Episode 8” also in December.
Not one of the 13 upcoming movies is “Big Hero 7” included, thus the new rumors about its 2017 release date look inaccurate or baseless.
The same rumors saying that “Big Hero 7” shall be released in 2017 is also stating that the sequel would keep its original cast from “Big Hero 6” including Ryan Potter as the voice of Hiro Hamada, Scott Adsit as the voice of Baymax, T.J. Miller as the voice of Fred, Jamie Chung as the voice of GoGo Tomago, Damon Wayans Jr. as the voice of Wasabi, and Genesis Rodriguez as the voice of Honey Lemon, details iTech Post.
Not a happy reunion
Thus far, the consensus on the rumored plotline of “Big Hero 7” is that Tadashi Hamada, the brother of Hiro, will be back in the sequel.
It can be recalled that Tadashi died while trying to rescue Professor Callaghan, who later become the film’s antagonist, during a major explosion in the school’s science expo.
Reports have it that Professor Callaghan’s survival led to the theory that Tadashi might have also survived the flames that engulfed the setting of the science fair. The professor survived the explosion and subsequent fire using the microbots created by Hiro which he presented in the event.
It is also Professor Callaghan’s evil nature that made fans believe that Tadashi may become an enemy when he returns in “Big Hero 7.”
Tadashi would reportedly return as Sunfire, one of the original characters of the comic version of “Big Hero 6.” He has the ability to absorb heat and then convert it into plasma, reports Game & Guide.
As such, the reunion between Hiro and Tadashi might not be that pleasant as Tadashi might start off as a villain. But like any Disney movies, he will eventually see the light and shall join the team to become the seventh member of the Big Hero group.
Going to be in the Marvel plate
Disney or Marvel has yet to confirm whether there is going to be a sequel to the 2014 sleeper animated movie hit “Big Hero 6” but the internet is already filled with rumors, speculations, and reports about “Big Hero 7,” supposedly the next film in the franchise.
It was actually Marvel comic book iconic writer Stan Lee who hinted that there is going to be a sequel to “Big Hero 6” when he included in his schedule last year the movie among those that are up and coming on the Marvel plate.
The rumors have been fairly consistent in saying that “Big Hero 7” shall be the title of the sequel to “Big Hero 6” and that it shall feature a game-changing twist on the next adventure of Hiro Hamada and Baymax, who lead the Big Hero 6 group.
Another thing that seems consistent with the rumors are reports saying that the next villain for the sequel is going to be Hiro’s brother, Tadashi.
