“Big Hero 6” was a bit of a lighthearted film, much in the style of the studio’s other works, and while it still managed to deliver an important message, in the end it was a funny experience above all. Lately we’ve been hearing rumors about a possible sequel in the works – dubbed “Big Hero 7” by the community – and the latest leaks about the new film indicate that it might take a bit of a darker turn with its plot than its predecessor.
While there’s been no official confirmation about the film, we did hear Stan Lee talking about the possibility of working on a sequel to “Big Hero 6” in the future, alongside talks of a new “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Captain America”. We don’t even know what the film will be called at this point, as “Big Hero 7” is just a title that fans came up with to refer to the film.
But it might not make too much sense to call it that unless the plot changes a little bit to accommodate the new number. On the other hand, that might be a clever way to develop the concept further and add some progression to the plot over time. In the end, the name is probably the first thing that will be announced once the official revelation is made, so as soon as the film is confirmed to be in production, we should also know what it will be called.
Among the various rumors that we’ve been hearing about “Big Hero 7”, we might see the return of Tadashi even though we saw him apparently get killed in the first film. There have been some hints that the character is still alive, particularly in a phrase that Baymax regularly repeated to Hiro – “Tadashi’s here”. But for now, this is just speculation and we have no idea what the writers might be planning for the character, or for the whole film in general.
There have been rumors that he’s going to be back in another form, namely that of Sunfire. Sunfire is one of the original “Big Hero 6” crew members, and he had the special ability to convert heat to plasma. That would match some of the speculation that was surrounding the resurrection of the character, and it would also be an interesting twist to the plot.
However, it remains under speculation whether Tadashi would be reintroduced as a villain or a good guy. Both are equally possible right now, and the producers of “Big Hero 7” might have some more unusual ideas in mind in order to stir up the feelings of their fans and make people talk about the film even more.
In addition, some other rumors that we’re hearing claim that the film is going to have a darker tone than the one before it, and it might not have the same lighthearted moments that we got to love “Big Hero 6” for. However, some fans have been split on that idea. On one hand, it would obviously be good to see a little more drama, but on the other, it shouldn’t be done at the cost of alienating old fans.
One particular rumor claims that all team members will face darker versions of themselves and will have to deal with them in different ways. This was inspired by recent leaks that showed action figures of the characters in darker tones and with slightly different appearances.
