After it spread out to various parts of the world, people adopted the show in different styles as each country where it airs tends to have a preference for a specific aspect of it. Some viewers love more drama, others are interested in the romantic stories that develop, and on the other hand we also have those who are more strongly attached to the cast members and like to follow them on social media and engage with them there.
Because of this, any changes coming up in the US version of the show don’t necessarily have to propagate to its counterparts in other countries, unless it would benefit the format in another region.
It’s interesting to see how the different countries that have gotten the show have transformed its appearance from the initial iterations, and even though it follows a common format, it has been adapted to different tastes in various subtle ways.
That’s just part of the beauty of this show. It’s supposed to be the ultimate social experiment on TV, but it actually also reveals some things about the way society works outside of the boundaries of the show itself, sometimes without people even realizing it. The kind of commentary that it makes on our society is quite interesting to follow and something that’s worth exploring even for someone who isn’t otherwise interested in “Big Brother”.
