Do you know how many years the Big Bang Theory has been on television? Most people these days will be able to tell you exactly and maybe even add a couple of episode titles to the list for good measure. The show has been one of the most popular sitcoms on television for the last 5 plus years and it looks like there is one particular actor that has been rocketed into stardom on the show. According to sources, Jim Parsons has been given a star on the Walk of Fame.
Not that any of the cast members could not have their own star, but Jim Parsons is clearly the glue that holds that show together. The entire cast supported Parsons in Hollywood for the ceremony where he was added to the Walk of Fame. He deserves it and his cast mates could not be happier for him. Jim Parsons plays an awkward genius that has won four Emmy’s and one Golden Globe as Sheldon Cooper for the show which airs on CBS.
Other than the cast members, there were plenty of others in attendance to see the ceremony including the creator of the show, Chuck Lorre, Parsons long-time partner Todd Spiewak and of course, his mother. Jim Parsons did not take too long to bring the comedy to the ceremony stating that he thought it was a weird place to honor anyone. “We will put your name right on the ground and if there is gum there? Come on, it is the ground!”
The cast members of the popular nerd type show have been together the entire run of the series and this is not the first time they have been together for a good cause. Just last year, the main three cast members got together and wanted to negotiate their pay raises with CBS. The show production was delayed, which was expected, but only for a few days while the deals were worked out.
In the end, the deal was done and Parsons, Galecki and Couco-Sweeting were going to earn $1 million per episode for the entire tenth season. It seems that Jim Parsons is getting most of the attention when it comes to awards and things like that, but cast member Johnny Galecki has been around the block before. He started his career playing David on the popular 80’s sitcom, Roseanne. All of the cast members play well together and have been doing so for 10 seasons at this point, which is not something you see much these days.
