Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, has yet to become Saul Goodman after two seasons and 20 episodes of the American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” on AMC.
He has been through a lot of ordeals and dilemma, that he often stops to do some soul-searching and decide on what he really wanted to do, indicating that Jimmy is starting his metamorphosis into Saul.
Apart from the situations happening around him, it seems that his big brother Chuck McGill, played by Michael McKean, shall also contribute to his transformation as Saul Goodman.
According to reports, the older McGill might actually use against Jimmy the recorded and incriminating confession his litter brother did regarding the alteration of the Mesa Verde files in Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” when it airs in February next year, reports the Christian Times.
The piece of evidence in his hands would be more than enough to damage the reputation of his brother, whom he tricked into believing that he was just being a concerned brother to him.
Explaining the duplicity of Chuck
In a recent interview, actor Michael McKean said that his character in the TV series would not have second thoughts in making sure that his little brother’s life goes down the drain and that seems to be what Chuck intends to do in Season 3 of “Better Call Saul.”
The duplicity of Chuck has been manifested all throughout the series, said McKean. He also explained that the reason why Chuck has that notion against his brother because of the fact that his character made their mother proud but it was Jimmy who made her laugh and he envied that.
Chuck is manipulating Jimmy through his seeming concern for him but in reality, he does not care at all for Jimmy.
According to reports, Jimmy would be facing a whole lot of problems and issues in Season 3 that shall be triggered by his brother Chuck and those could be his impetus to finally turn into Saul Goodman.
A complex character
It has also been reported that Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” shall feature the arrival of drug kingpin and “Breaking Bad” favorite Gus Fring, to be played by Giancarlo Esposito.
Kim, played by Rhea Seehorn, shall also show her wilder side and her life before she met and fell in love with Jimmy in the upcoming third season of the critically-acclaimed TV series just like its parent show, reports the Christian Post.
In a previous interview, Bob Odenkirk confirmed that Season 3 shall focus on the back story of Kim and fans and viewers would realize that she is actually a complex character.
The actor said that they will also see some of Kim’s attraction to Jimmy and the ways in which she and Jimmy are different.
There have been rumors that Season 3 might also feature other characters from “Breaking Bad” but the producers and showrunners have kept silent about it.
Incidentally, “Breaking Bad” on AMC became a legend in the TV community primarily because of the immersive storytelling of showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould that even at the end of five seasons of the show, fans and viewers were almost asking for more.
Fans were able to get their second servings alright in the form of the prequel series “Better Call Saul” which began to air also on AMC last year. The show had its successful Season 2 this year and from the looks of it, Season 3 will continue to build on the gains of the first two seasons of the popular TV series.
Bob Odenkirk said that he has no idea what Season 3 will hold for his character, alluding that he does not know when his character will officially transform into Saul Goodman.
