‘Better Call Saul’ Season 3 to Possibly Reveal that Gus Fring May Have Something to Do with What Happened to Mike During the Season 2 Finale!

The biggest secret of Season 3 of the American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” on AMC is out and it is no other than drug kingpin cum restaurateur Gus Fring, to be played by Giancarlo Esposito, who also did an excellent job with the character back in the antecedent “Breaking Bad.”

The first letter of the 10 episodes of Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” spelled out FRINGSBACK. When spaced and punctuated properly to make a phrase, it actually reads ‘Fring’s Back.’

Thus, it became clear to fans of the hit show that Gus Fring, the drug kingpin and chicken store owner in the parent series “Breaking Bad,” shall be showing up in Season 3 of “Better Call Saul.”

In a recent interview, Bob Odenkirk, who pays the lead role of Jimmy McGill in “Better Call Saul,” said that now that the cat is out of the bag, there are speculations saying that Gus Fring may have a hand with what happened to Mike Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks, during the Season 2 finale.

He explained that Gus Frings works in mysterious ways and he casts a long shadow because he works indirectly.

Odenkirk said that he is actually worried of disappointing the fans if their hopes were raised that they would see Gus Fring in Season 3 wall-to-wall but does not turn out to be that way.

He said that he also has no idea whether Gus Fring would show up in one, two, three, or more episodes in Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” because only show creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould know.

An Easter egg that was deciphered by fans

The actor said that the writers of “Better Call Saul” always do clever things by leaving clues all over the show. So that’s when they thought about using the acronym or the first letter of each episode of Season 2, notes the Christian Today.

He revealed that the people behind the show were actually surprised to find out that fans were able to decipher the Easter egg that they left.

Some fans have been speculating that Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” will finally see Gus Fring as a closet gay.

During his guesting in “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Odenkirk did not confirm such speculation about Gus Fring but he said that his character shall be looking for the man, whom he said shall be right in the first episode of Season 3 of “Better Call Saul.”

The actor also said that the upcoming third season, which is likely to premiere on AMC in February next year, shall see Jimmy McGill getting his innocence torn away, which could be an indication again that his transformation to Saul Goodman is drawing near, notes the Ecumenical News.

Not about ready to appear yet

Despite confirmation from actor Bryan Cranston that his “Breaking Bad” character Walter White will not appear in Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” as he will just be directing an episode, fans are still hoping that his character would somehow find a way.

The 60-year-old actor said that he does not know the context or how the idea would work because the characters were actually in different phases.

He explained that the characters did not meet until the second season of “Breaking Bad” when Walter White needed to meet Saul Goodman.

Better Call Saul Season 2

Cranston supposes that White and Goodman could have a serendipitous brush with each other down the street or in the market but he does not know what good will that do because it is just a little cookie.

He also confirmed that he is looking forward to going to the production of the TV series soon to direct an episode. He considers the people behind “Better Call Saul” as a family. The actor said that the production team still has the same crew and he would find it exciting to rekindle the flame and that it is still very much alive.
