‘Better Call Saul’ Season 3 Bob Odenkirk’s Statement that Innocence Gets Torn Away a Clear Hint of Jimmy McGill’s Transformation to Saul Goodman

In a recent interview, actor Bob Odenkirk, who plays the role of James ‘Jimmy’ McGill in the American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” on Netflix, said that the upcoming third season of the show will see innocence getting torn away.

While it was a cryptic quote, to say the least, many critics are saying that it could possibly the season where Jimmy McGill finally turns into Saul Goodman, notes News Everyday.

This looms very imminently especially with the fact that his brother Chuck McGill, played by Michael McKean has already screwed him twice over.

Although Chuck claims that he loves Jimmy as his brother, the former does not trust him as a lawyer because he thinks Jimmy has unorthodox and streetsmart ways of getting things done, which is often technically wrong in law.

The transformation of Jimmy into Saul is also likely to happen now that it has already been confirmed that Gustavo ‘Gus’ Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito, will finally show up in Season 3 of “Better Call Saul.”

It can be recalled that Gus Fring is the restaurateur cum drug lord in the parent series “Breaking Bad” so the character would not just be taking Mike Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks, with him in his drug empire but most likely Jimmy McGill as well.

In order to protect his brother Chuck and the law firms he was associated with, it is likely that Jimmy McGill will make the transformation to Saul Goodman, the criminal lawyer, with emphasis on the word criminal.

An interesting addition

Another interesting addition to the upcoming Season 3 of “Better Call Saul” which is due to hit AMC early next year is the decision of Bryan Cranston to join the show.

But Cranston would not be reprising his iconic Walter White role in “Better Call Saul” Season 3 but as director of one of the episodes of the TV series.

While the actor would be most willing to make an appearance in “Better Call Saul” should series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould say so, he doubts of its possibility given the timeline of the spin-off TV series.

There is now way that Walter White could have met Jimmy McGill and not remember him as such when he was finally able to meet Saul Goodman in Season 2 of “Breaking Bad.”

Aside from being a gifted actor, Bryan Cranston has also directed several TV shows in the past including “Modern Family,” “The Office,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” and “Breaking Bad,” details Game & Guide.

The actor has plenty of film projects on his plate right now including the upcoming “Why Him” with James Franco, as well as “The Infiltrator,” and “All the Way” shown earlier this year. He will be playing the role of Zordon in the upcoming “Power Rangers” movie due to hit theaters next year.

Black-and-white setting

During the premiere episode of the debut season of “Better Call Saul” last year, the first scene showed a black-and-white setting where Saul Goodman is already Gene, the Cinnabon manager. The same thing happened during the premiere episode of Season 2.

Better Call Saul Season 2

Apparently, it is a flash forward to what Saul Goodman has become after he agreed to leave Albuquerque and start a new life all over again following the last few episodes of “Breaking Bad.”

Saul Goodman had no choice but to alter his personality since he has been very involved with the dealings of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman as met manufacturers. He, in fact, held their money during their prime. It was either the DEA get to him or the new drug cartel eliminates him.
