A new teaser trailer for Season 2 of the American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” has been released by AMC a little over a month before the popular show premieres on February 15 and fans are describing it as pretty awesome.
While the footage showed Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, as still Jimmy, he appears to be slipping out already to his dark side. Every viewer of “Better Call Saul” knows that Jimmy will eventually metamorphose into Saul Goodman, but the excitement is actually to know when it is going to happen and how it will do so.
Showrunner Peter Gould said that Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” will see the journey of Jimmy McGill taking surprising left-handed turns and that the show’s main character shall go to places that he has never been before, details Slash Film.
Mike Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks, shall also play a crucial role in the eventual transformation of Jimmy McGill as he is again pulled deeper into the world that he once thought he has already left forever.
Veering away from the straight and narrow path
The show has already built up the eventual metamorphosis of Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman as early as Season 1 as the do-gooder law practitioner tried to establish himself as a legitimate lawyer like his brother Chuck, played by Michael McKean.
But following a tragedy and a gut-wrenching revelation during the Season 1 finale, Jimmy appears to have veered away from the straight and narrow path as voices began playing on his head.
Season 2 is set to take Jimmy even further away from legitimacy, much to the disapproval of his best friend and voice of reason, Kim, played by Rhea Seehorn.
Jimmy was even quoted as saying to her in the trailer that he has been doing the right thing for a long time already but it has gotten him nowhere.
Boing Boing actually describes “Better Call Saul” as an absolute favorite show because Bob Odenkirk is perfectly playing the fragile Jimmy McGill who shall eventually turn into the beloved underdog scumbag lawyer Saul Goodman.
No idea when transformation will happen
While the trailers and hints of Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” indicate the eventual transformation of Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman, showrunner Peter Gould revealed in a recent interview that fans and viewers would not know when exactly will it happen.
In fact, it is possible that the transformation of Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman may not happen during Season 2 at all.
In a recent interview, Gould said that Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” will be totally unpredictable. He explained that the biggest single decision they have made was to let Jimmy’s character create the spine of the show because they ended up with a show.
Gould explained that there were some episodes in Season 1 that were so dark and some that were also so light but those episodes were right next to each other. It was a situation that actually scared them at first but he is now happy that they proceeded anyway because the viewers decided to join them and went along with the ride.
Like the many fans of the popular TV series, Peter Gould is also very excited for Season 2 of “Better Call Saul.” He said that they like Season 2 of the show a lot, as filming has already been completed last month.
As far as possible spoiler for Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” is concerned, Gould hinted that the upcoming season will build on the decisions made by Jimmy and the other characters during the previous season.
