‘Better Call Saul’ Season 2 Officially Starts Filming; B29 Bomber Plane Spotted on the Set!

Filming for the upcoming second season of “Better Call Saul” is now underway. The cast and crew were photographed shooting some scenes in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christian Post reports.

The second season of the AMC hit drama series is set to premiere next year with a great scene. Reports say that the cast recently shot a large scale scene in the area which involved a B29 bomber plane.

As per ABC affiliate KOAT, a B29 bomber plane named Fifi was indeed used while filming an episode of the “Breaking Bad” spinoff series. The plane is on a national tour across the southwest and according to airport employees, the hangar, and the maintenance building were also used during the filming.

As per Realty Today, the B29 plane might appear during the season premiere. It is also expected to be seen when AMC starts showing teaser and promo videos for the forthcoming season.

The network has yet to release any new information as well as the exact release date of the upcoming season of the hit show. However, last July, the network released two first-look photos on the set.

In the first picture, Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, is all suited up and talking to two men who have their backs to the camera. The second photo shows series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould on the set.

Last season, fans were left asking when Jimmy will accept his Saul Goodman persona. Speculations say that Odenkirk’s ‘Saul moment’ will be happening early on in Season 2, perhaps even in the season premiere.

Fans of the show are still getting over the fact that “Breaking Bad” alums Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, and Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, won’t be making an appearance this season, Cranston’s latest interview hinted a little hope for them.

Speaking at a press conference for his latest movie “Trumbo,” where Bryan co-stars with Helen Mirren and John Goodman, the 59-year-old actor admits that he doesn’t know if a cameo role is being set for him in “Better Caul Saul.”

He said that he would have no problem reprising his Walter White role if showrunner Gilligan would want him to. As for Paul, the Emmy award-winning actor has stated in his interview with CBS last year that he would gladly play the drug-dealing Jesse Pinkman again.

The 36-year-old actor says that if Gilligan would invite him to reprise his famous role, he would do so in a heartbeat as he owes his career to the executive producer. Aaron added that the idea of playing the Jesse in his younger and lighter years would be fun and a great idea.

Moviepilot believes that Walter and Jesse would not be appearing in the second season of “Better Call Saul” just yet and it would be a strategic move. As much as fans want to see their favorite characters from “Breaking Bad” on its spinoff series, “Better Call Saul” needs to stand on its own two feet. The TV series needs to be accepted as a show all its own.

While fans have to wait a little longer before the “Breaking Bad” duo make their way to the prequel series, reports say that several characters from the original series are set to make cameos in Season 2.

Realty Today suggests that Francesca. aka Honey Tits, Saul’s secretary played by Tina Parker, might be appearing in the series when the show returns next year.

Giancarlo Esposito’s Gustavo Fring will reportedly become part of the show’s second season as well. Fring was a high-level drug distributor and a fast food chain owner in “Breaking Bad” until the fourth season.

Last season, “Breaking Bad” alumni Raymond Cruz, Cesar Garcia, Jesus Payan Jr, and T.C Warner have reprised their roles as Tuco Salamanca, No-Doze, Gonzo, and a nurse, respectively.
