There have been some rumors that there are actually major plans for a crossover with “Breaking Bad” at some point in the future of “Better Call Saul”, but this is not very concrete right now and fans are still wondering if the producers are going to do it.
On the other hand, there are also some claims that the showrunners treat “Breaking Bad” as a concluded story and they don’t want to touch it anymore, and because of this we aren’t going to see any direct references to the show in “Better Call Saul” in the future.
That would be disappointing to fans though, as the main reason for the success of “Better Call Saul” lies exactly in its predecessor and many people wouldn’t even be interested in the show if it wasn’t for the original.
Because of this, the producers should definitely pay homage to “Breaking Bad” and make sure that they give the show its due respect. We might see this realized in various ways throughout the next episodes of “Better Call Saul”, and Walter White will likely always be in the shadows in one way or another. Let’s just hope that there won’t be anything that spoils fans’ opinion of the old show and ruins their memories of it by skewing the image of some characters.
