Better Call Saul Season 2 Full Trailer Finally Released; Show Returns on February 15, And More

AMC finally gave fans the much-awaited full trailer for the second season of the hit crime-drama TV series “Better Call Saul.”

In the in-depth promo, the focus was very much on Bob Odenkirk’s Jimmy McGill, Jonathan Banks’ Mike, and Rhea Seehorn’s Kim.

It also takes focus on Jimmy’s brother Chuck, played by Micheal McKean, who is looking like this season’s main villain.

Interestingly, the clip also includes interviews with the cast and crew, including creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who speak about Jimmy’s slow evolution into Saul Goodman as the season develops.

The creators discuss the impending transformation of McGill into the sleazy yet lovable lawyer from its prequel series which is what fans have been waiting for since the first season.

Gould says that the upcoming season will get darker and bigger in a lot of aspects. Gilligan, on the other hand, teases fans that they will find out if Saul Goodman is Jimmy’s true nature or not this season.

Odenkirk for his part says that with the way Season 1 ended, it left a huge opportunity for anything to happen with Jimmy and the others.

Speaking to Den of Geek, the 53-year-old actor says that Jimmy’s transformation into Mr. Goodman won’t be all of a sudden.

It’s one of the good things that Gilligan was able to convey on “Breaking Bad” that people can change, and it can be a struggle and take an incredibly long time to happen.

This is true especially since the events of “Better Call Saul” take place in 2002, six years after events of “Breaking Bad” where Saul crosses paths with Bryan Cranston’s Walter White.

Banks for his part, also speaks of his policeman-turned-criminal character and says that Mike’s moral code is pretty flawed as of the moment. It’s also pretty bad because of his expertise in shady things.

According to Design & Trend, Jimmy is going to be doing more dirty dealings this season and his moral code is set to become more defective as he and Mike get involved in more illegal ventures.

An interesting point in the trailer is Chuck being painted as the season’s big bad. In the trailer, Chuck seems to be sabotaging Jimmy’s every move and the conflict between the two lawyer brothers will reach a breaking point.

Reports say that Jimmy and Chuck’s fallout will be the final nail in the coffin for Jimmy to change his identity.

The brothers had a rift during the finale of the first season and the promo clip suggests that a repair in their relationship is not going to happen anytime soon.

Gould says of this season will be interesting to see if Chuck’s lack of belief in his brother will be the driving force for Jimmy to turn around. He then adds that Chuck might just be jealous of his brother all along.

Mckean appears to confirm Gould statements about Chuck’s jealousy as the 68-year-old actor’s comments that everybody loves Jimmy baffle his character. He adds that people don’t see how dangerous he is.

When the “Breaking Bad” prequel enters its sophomore season, Odenkirk’s character is still the small-time scam artist Jimmy. In the clip, McGill is seen questioning whether doing the right thing is indeed the right thing.

Jimmy is then seen driving his car through what seems like the New Mexico desert. He sees a clear one-way path, and a stormy path the other way.

The trailer shows the character taking the road less traveled, but doesn’t know he’ll eventually drive off a cliff.

For those who have seen “Breaking Bad,” the cliff leads to the Witness Protection Program and an unfulfilling job at Cinnabon.
