Better Call Saul Season 2 First Trailer Alludes to the Gradual Transformation of Jimmy McGill!

The first trailer for the upcoming Season 2 of the American drama TV series “Better Call Saul” on AMC has just made its way to the small screens last week, but not much has been seen as far as new scenes for the second season are concerned.

Instead, the new trailer only showed some scenes from Season 1 before a sharp shot of Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, capped it off in the final seconds, details the Christian Post.

It remains unclear what the showrunner and the production team wanted to deliver to the viewers, but it is likely an ominous foreboding that the lover of good and right in Jimmy McGill will start turning into a whole new different person come Season 2.

Every fan of “Better Call Saul,” the spinoff TV series of the very successful American crime drama TV series “Breaking Bad,” knows that Jimmy McGill will eventually transform to become Saul Goodman. The only question is when and how, which the upcoming second season of “Better Call Saul” may start providing answers to.

The first season saw McGill doing everything in his power to stay on the right track, despite being caught up between his conscience and the whims of twisted morality.

An ominous foreboding

During the Season 1 finale, McGill returned to Chicago in search of Marco, played by Mel Rodriguez, only to find his long-lost friend in the very same spot where he left him, but already a different person altogether.

Chuck, played by Michael McKean, has made Jimmy doubt that his straight path was a dream. He said that the Kettlemans simply do not want to put their trust on him, which had Jimmy broken and frustrated.

With a painful past haunting him and the betrayal of the people closest to him on the back of his mind, Jimmy is expected to start heading toward the shadows of the law where truth are all lies and every trial comes with a price.

It would be his history and his current situation that would combine and contribute to his eventual transformation to Saul Goodman.

No pressure at all

In a recent interview, Bob Odenkirk said that he and the production team of “Better Call Saul” are not pressured at all to be at par or surpass the accomplishments of their mother series “Breaking Bad.”

He said that they are just trying to make something good that has an integrity and honesty to it. While many critics are praising the perfection of “Better Call Saul” as a TV series because of the astute guidance of “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan and executive producer Peter Gould, much of the success is also due to Bob Odenkirk, cites Digital Trends.

Odenkirk brings a level of humanity to Jimmy McGill as an earnest but green Albuquerque lawyer who eventually transforms into Walter White’s outspoken lawyer Saul Goodman.

During the Season 1 finale of “Better Call Saul,” there were already hints of the emergence of Saul from Jimmy as he has come to terms with the fact that he is not to be one of society’s good guys.

Better Call Saul Seson 2

The speech of Michael ‘Mike’ Ehrmantraut in episode 9 of Season 1 was actually on target to Saul’s eventual transformation. He said that he has known good criminals and bad cops as well as bad priests and honorable thieves.

He added that one can be on one side of the law or the other but if he makes a deal with somebody, he got to keep his word.
