The penultimate episode of Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed American crime drama TV series “Better Call Saul” will air on April 11 and it will feature Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, likely getting into trouble.
Based on the teaser trailer for episode 9 of “Better Call Saul,” Chuck, played by Michael McKean, will be confronting Jimmy because he wants to find out who has meddled with his documents.
Chuck shall suspect two people who may have something to do with the changes made on his documents to make it appear that he has made a mistake. One is Jimmy and the other is Kim Wexler, played by Rhea Seehorn, notes the International Business Times of Australia.
In the trailer, Chuck was quoted as saying that he wants to clear the air once and for all because his capabilities as a lawyer are being questioned.
The veteran lawyer is preparing to go to a meeting with Howard, played by Patrick Fabian, and was actually all set to do his victory lap after winning Mesa Verde as their client.
As the one who meddled with Chuck’s documents, Jimmy will do everything to make sure that his secret does not come out and will even lie to the face of Chuck if necessary.
Making a lot of TV commercials
Jimmy is already busy with his new solo law practice and he has also been filming a lot of TV commercials and will continue to do so in the next episode. His latest commercial deals a lot about patriotism.
Although he has yet to make it big in his law career, Jimmy is already having some issues with his personal life. His relationship with Kim is moving on a roller-coaster pace but it seems that they would be drifting further apart in the next episode as the teaser trailer showed Kim very angry with Jimmy and she refuses to talk to him.
In a recent interview with Bob Odenkirk, the actor said that Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” is going to be Rhea Seehorn’s year, praising his co-star’s nuanced and honest performance by giving depth to her character Kim and superbly dramatizing lawyers’ lives with him, reports Deadline.
Showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould attribute the show’s excellent storyline, however, to the show’s writing staff.
Gould explained that they were just fortunate to have access to great brains in their writers, who one way or the other, are familiar with lawyers. He said that Gordon Smth comes from a family of lawyers while Ann Cherkis’ father is a lawyer too. He cited that they have also brought people in from various specialties to chat with them to talk more about the backroom stuff instead of the courtroom stuff.
For his part, Gilligan said that his understanding of the law is minimal at best and also from watching “Perry Mason” episodes. When he realized that he was about to do a show about lawyers, he sighed. Good thing, Gould reminded him that it is going to be a crime show.
An appearance to fit the show
Before the Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” on Netflix, it was rumored that the second season of the critically-acclaimed show could actually feature the appearance of some of the key characters of its parent series, the equally popular and critically-acclaimed “Breaking Bad.”
Those who have followed and watched the five seasons of “Breaking Bad” are familiar with the key characters of “Better Call Saul” including lead star Bob Odenkirk, who plays Saul Goodman in the parent series but is currently holding on to his Jimmy McGill persona, Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut, and Raymond Cruz as Tuco Salamanca.
Foremost to fan wishful thinking of “Breaking Bad” characters appearing on “Better Call Saul” is no other than Brian Cranston, who played Walter White and Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman.
