It was definitely interesting for many fans of “Breaking Bad” to see the origin of Saul revealed and explored in such detail though, and the first season of “Better Call Saul” seems to have added a lot to the original show for its fans.
That was apparently one of the main ideas of the producers in the first place though, so it’s probably not all that surprising. “Better Call Saul” was a great idea for expanding the “universe” of the original “Breaking Bad” and adding some more depth to some of its characters without forcing “Breaking Bad” itself to stay on air forever.
On that note, many fans of the original were apparently happy with the idea of ending it where it was, because the show ran a risk of becoming too bloated if its plot had gone on for much longer. This is a common problem for successful productions that the showrunners of “Breaking Bad” managed to avoid quite gracefully.
And since Jimmy is about to become Saul, some fans have been speculating that we’re also going to see other familiar faces from “Breaking Bad” making an appearance on the production in one way or another. Of course, this isn’t supposed to be “Breaking Bad 2”, but a few cameos here and there definitely have the potential to spice things up and make the overall show more interesting for both fans of the original as well as newcomers who haven’t seen “Breaking Bad” yet.
