‘Better Call Saul’ Fans Clamor for Appearance of ‘Breaking Bad’ Stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul on Season 2 of Spinoff Series!

Every couch potato knows that the American TV drama series “Better Call Saul” is the spinoff of the Emmy Award-wining American crime drama TV show “Breaking Bad” which had its six-year glorious run on AMC from 2008 to 2013.

The popularity and success of “Breaking Bad” have actually spilled over to its prequel “Better Call Saul.” The high ratings during its first season is an indication of better things for “Better Call Saul” on AMC when its Season 2 unravels early next year.

Production for Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” has already begun last month and Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, is expected to metamorphose from a good small-time lawyer James Morgan ‘Jimmy’ McGill to a villain, the way he became as shown in “Breaking Bad.”

He was Jimmy McGill in the entire first season of “Better Call Saul.” While he showed traces of his future self, he never transformed into a villain, or not just yet. Apparently, Jimmy’s transformation to Saul will happen in Season 2.

Reports have it that the TV series will take viewers through a new journey when it returns and the focus of the second season will be the transition of Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman. Prior to turning into a villain, the character will have to go through a lot of changes which the upcoming Season 2 episodes will dwell into.

Characters from ‘Breaking Bad’

As production of “Better Call Saul” is now ongoing, fans of the show are clamoring for the possible guesting stint of key “Breaking Bad” characters, particularly Bryan Cranston and his very popular Walter White character, and Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman.

While Bob Odenkirk understands the impact of the mother series on the popularity of “Better Call Saul,” he said that the current TV series should not compete with the success of its predecessor, notes Venture Capital Post.

In a recent interview, he said that he does not think he has to one-up Walter White of “Breaking Bad” because the people behind the mother series were all part of the conceptualization of “Better Call Saul,” and it was anchored primarily on the phenomenon of “Breaking Bad.”

He also added that while he is known more to fans as the sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman in “Breaking Bad,” he still finds himself more like Jimmy McGill than Saul Goodman since the former is not living with the world directly and he is suffering for it.

During a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Bob Odenkirk assumed his character Saul Goodman and poked fun at Jimmy Fallon. The segment was quite fascinating for viewers as Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman managed to pull off the segment without breaking into a smile, making one thinks that his assault on Jimmy Fallon was for real, details Crossmap.

A teaser for fans

Even though the series is still to hit the TV screen early next year, fans of “Better Call Saul” got a glimpse of the transforming Jimmy McGill through the two officially released behind-the-scene photos of the show’s Season 2 last month.

One of the photos focus on showrunners Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, the other image shows McGill appearing to be in trouble as he is seemingly being confronted by two men.

Better Call Saul

In a recent interview, Peter Gould said that fans of the show should look forward to in Season 2 of “Better Call Saul” how close is Jimmy McGill to becoming the guy whom they met in “Breaking Bad,” obviously referring to Saul Goodman, who always recommend murder as a business strategy.

He added that Jimmy McGill is a character that he loves and roots for and it really makes him a little sad and worried to see how he is going to evolve into a totally different person, which is inevitable anyway considering that “Better Call Saul” is the prequel of “Breaking Bad.”
