What can we expect to see in the new game though? There has been a lot of debate over that in its community, and it seems like some fans of the franchise want to see it becoming a bit more hardcore in the future. That is to say, Bethesda should reverse their current trend to some extent.
And it’s definitely true that games in the “Elder Scrolls” franchise have been getting more streamlined and accessible lately. Quests in particular have been made very simple, replacing lengthy descriptions with a simple quest marker.
Some improvement in the game’s difficulty and some more interesting combat mechanics would likely go a long way towards making the next “Elder Scrolls” game the installment in the series that fans have been asking for. But in any case, some fans would just be happy to get a new sequel after all this time, even if it’s on the same level of quality as the previous games and not significantly better.
I don’t think it would be a good time to release a Elder Scrolls 6 now. Give Fallout a few years and then release the next Bethesda game would be ideal. They might make more money that way.
That logic is flawed, a new title costs about $60 roughly (without factoring in tax). If you were truly a fan of two series of games with releases, even if you couldn’t afford it at the moment, would probably pick it up later. It doesn’t take much to save up $60 for a game lol.
How about a remake of the Terminator game from the early 1990’s?
Well if we look back at the past there was a 5 year gap between Oblivion and Skyrim, and work for Skyrim started not long after Oblivion got released. Also if we factor in fallout releases, Fallout 3 came out 2 years after Oblivion.
So in my opinion we wont see anything about Elder Scrolls 6 end 2016 mid 2017, the game probably exists but still in development as no doubt a lot of attention was on the final development of Fallout 4 and its post-release development (add-ons, patches & fixes stuff like that)
Bethesda is a company v close to my heart , every single release I enjoy and have spent the upwards of 1500+ hours playing their masterpieces.
I am glad they are taking the modest approach and not boasting about something that is not nearly ready , as you would have every gamer asking for a release date that would be rushed and bug ridden costing the company face.
I was very concerned about the direction of ES with ESO by Zenimax , and yes I know ESO was an MMO and to some extent works well as an MMO but but felt could never capture the essence of the Elder Scrolls Series.
I will patiently wait for what I know is going to be a massive masterpiece , and it would be a dream come true as an indy developer to one day join the ranks on the Bethesda dev team
