E3 was quite exciting this year, especially for Bethesda’s fans, as the studio came out with various interesting announcements that were anticipated for a long time. Between “Fallout 4”, “Dishonored 2” and the new “Doom”, the company’s fans got plenty of things to discuss, and of course they were very eager to discuss what they had seen online.
However, one game was notably absent from the list, and that was “The Elder Scrolls 6”, another title by the studio that was rumored to be in development for a long time, but we still don’t have any official confirmation for it. There was a lot of speculation over whether or not we’ll get to see the game at this year’s E3, and in the end Bethesda disappointed this part of their fan base.
Still, with so much on their plate, we can understand why the studio might be too busy to pay attention to that game too, on top of everything else in their pipeline. And if “The Elder Scrolls 6” is not in a state to be presented to the world yet, it’s of course better that Bethesda wait instead of rushing it out just to satisfy their fans’ curiosity.
After all, a delayed announcement/release is always better than a rushed one, especially when it comes to a title as major as this one. One wrong move could cost Bethesda a lot in the long term, and the studio likely realizes the importance of this game. Because of this, we suspect that the announcement is some time away.
The studio did want to make it clear to their fans that they are doing their best to get the game to a presentable state in time however, but they couldn’t give any details about when exactly it’s expected to come out. Knowing the studio’s size and the number of games that they’re working on right now, they probably don’t have too many resources to allocate to that project in the end.
Whenever this game is announced though, it’s definitely going to shake up the scene quite a bit. With so much attention focused on it, Bethesda are surely going to put a lot of effort into both the announcement as well as the actual game itself. That, combined with the already great popularity of the franchise and the way the studio always develops games in this series with love and care, is a guarantee that the game will be a major event in the gaming world. Of course, that doesn’t say anything about the kind of quality we can expect from it once it comes out.

I don’t think it would be a good time to release a Elder Scrolls 6 now. Give Fallout a few years and then release the next Bethesda game would be ideal. They might make more money that way.
That logic is flawed, a new title costs about $60 roughly (without factoring in tax). If you were truly a fan of two series of games with releases, even if you couldn’t afford it at the moment, would probably pick it up later. It doesn’t take much to save up $60 for a game lol.
How about a remake of the Terminator game from the early 1990’s?
Well if we look back at the past there was a 5 year gap between Oblivion and Skyrim, and work for Skyrim started not long after Oblivion got released. Also if we factor in fallout releases, Fallout 3 came out 2 years after Oblivion.
So in my opinion we wont see anything about Elder Scrolls 6 end 2016 mid 2017, the game probably exists but still in development as no doubt a lot of attention was on the final development of Fallout 4 and its post-release development (add-ons, patches & fixes stuff like that)
Bethesda is a company v close to my heart , every single release I enjoy and have spent the upwards of 1500+ hours playing their masterpieces.
I am glad they are taking the modest approach and not boasting about something that is not nearly ready , as you would have every gamer asking for a release date that would be rushed and bug ridden costing the company face.
I was very concerned about the direction of ES with ESO by Zenimax , and yes I know ESO was an MMO and to some extent works well as an MMO but but felt could never capture the essence of the Elder Scrolls Series.
I will patiently wait for what I know is going to be a massive masterpiece , and it would be a dream come true as an indy developer to one day join the ranks on the Bethesda dev team
