While reports indicate that it would come out by next year, the second installment to the stealth action-adventure video game “Dishonored 2” may be announced by publisher Bethesda Softworks in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 scheduled in June 16 to 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Bethesda has in its plate three of the most anticipated and upcoming video games by fans and gamers. In addition to “Dishonored 2,” game enthusiasts are expecting the from the developer “Fallout 4” and “Elder Scrolls 6,” notes Metro.
The stealth action-adventure video game is expected to unravel on the next gen gaming consoles, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and judging from the success of its predecessor when it was released worldwide in October 2012, it is expected to be a sure-fire hit too.
Notwithstanding that more than two years have passed since the last game came out, it is likely that developer Arkane Studios would have great improvements on “Dishonored 2” including possibly a larger world, better artificial intelligence, and vastly enhanced graphics.
“Dishonored” was released on the PC, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360 so the “Dishonored 2” version on the next gen gaming consoles should be a humdinger, graphics wise.
One of the major attributes of “Dishonored” is its distinct art style and it is likely that Arkane Studios will keep it with “Dishonored 2” to reinforce familiarity and game feel among gamers.
Similar gameplay
While Bethesda has yet to make an official statement regarding “Dishonored 2” including how the game works, it is likely that the upcoming stealth video game will have similar gameplay as its predecessor.
The video game is expected to be played from a first-person perspective with emphasis on stealth action and use of gadgets and environment to defeat opponents.
Just like “Dishonored,” the second installment of the video game shall have role-playing game elements including the ability to upgrade powers and to make moral choices with a focus on unknown consequences. In fact, the player can complete it without killing any non-player characters.
As a continuation of the first video game, “Dishonored 2” would likely have a game world that is a series of self-contained, mission-focused areas subject to all types and kinds of exploration in terms of in-game movement and powers.
The player will draw support from the central hub where he can meet his allies, get mission briefings and details, and convert his recovered loot into new equipment and upgrades. Missions can be hurdled through stealth, combat, or combination of both.
The gamer shall undertake a series of assassination missions in various ways, with an emphasis on player choice, which makes the game really dynamic. Gameplay during missions vary in response to player’s violent actions or non-violent approaches.
