Game developer Bethesda Softworks just went over to present their new innovations during the recently-concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015. One of the most anticipated games is “Dishonored 2” but the fans were quite disappointed to see how little it seemed to be l featured during the conference that most thought it was barely complete. There was an announcement trailer that hinted some information about the upcoming game but Bethesda did not feature how the new gameplay will be.
In an interview with Polygon, Pete Hines, Bethesda VP of PR and Marketing explained what happened during their presentation at the E3. He said that since they already featured “Doom” and “Fallout 4,” he did not want “Dishonored 2” to compete with the two games that are expected to launch soon.
“Dishonored 2” is bound for released in 2016 so if they decide to amp up the feature of the game, there could be a possibility for some gamers to ignore the first two games they introduced this year.
Hines added that just like the others, he had three games on his plate that are already competing against themselves and to the other games that will also be launched this year. He did not want to tighten the competition for “Dishonored 2.” He said that it might have been too much introduction in just one presentation so he pulled back on revealing “Dishonored 2.”
Nonetheless, the trailer is still outstanding in terms of the visual effects. Even though it was just a short clip, it has already gave the critics a few angles to develop theories about the new game. apparently, it is set ahead a decade or so. This gives the ability to the user to switch characters between Corvo Attano, protagonist for “Dishonored,” and Emily Kaldwin. Each character will have their own sets of skills.
According to Game Informer, the setting will be 15 years after the finale of the first game. The journey will start in the day of Empress Emily Kaldwin. Game’s creative director Raphael Colantonio said that by the end of the first game, Emily has grown into a very interesting character. He said that she was actually the only good thing in the world worth saving. She was the representation of Corvo’s success. She is also that good bullet that inspires Corvo to action.
After the big chaos in “Dishonored,” Emily will be driven out of Dunwall and will eventually become an outlaw. This is where it gets exciting for the character switching ability. After 15 years, Emily is an entirely new person who has a new set of skills thanks to Corvo.

Each character will go through the same series of missions but there will be different perspectives and approach on how to complete the missions. There are no swapping of the characters once the user has already chosen to play the other but they can play both characters on different campaigns.
