“The Real Housewives of New York” started on March 4, 2008. On June 30, 2015, the series will be celebrating its 100th episode. The series initially started with de Lesseps, Frankel, Singer, Alex McCord and Jill Zarin. Kelly Killoren Bensimon joined the ladies during the second season. In the third season Sonja Morgan stepped in. But, after the third season, Frankel decided to leave the show. She was then replaced by Cindy Barshop during the fourth season.
Jill Zarin, McCord, Bensimon and Barshop remained only until the fourth season. For the fifth season, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman were introduced. Dorinda Medley then joined the crew for Season 7.
During the seasons when Frankel left, the show received lower ratings. New York Post even commented that the show is no longer entertaining without the main casts. This could be the reason why the production is bring Frankel back. So far, there are no certainties on whether she will come back again for Season 8.
