Warner Bros has had a rocky start kicking off its extended universe of DC Comics films. Both “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” were mangled by critics in terms of reviews, but both films were certified money-makers in the box office.
“The Batman” stand-alone movie doesn’t yet have an official title or release date yet, but it was tentatively pegged for 2018, based on previous rumors.
Incidentally, in addition to “Justice League Part 1” and “The Batman,” Ben Affleck is also expected to star in “Justice League Part 2” rumored to hit theaters in 2019.
He will be in the film along with fellow “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” stalwarts including Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
It is possible that Ben Affleck or the other members of the Justice League would also appear in the stand-alone films of other DC superheroes for those who have been confirmed already including “Wonder Woman,” “The Flash,” “Aquaman,” and “Green Lantern Corps.”
Superman is also expected to have his second stand-alone movie in the DCEU with the “Man of Steel 2” movie rumored to be released in 2019. It would be interesting to see DC superheroes making their cameo appearance on a Superman film for a welcome change.
