Beauty and the Beast May Put an Interesting Twist on the Story, Rumors Say!

The announcement that a live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast” is in production immediately grabbed the interest of many of Disney’s fans, and not only. We’ve seen very little information about the upcoming film so far though, and even though fans were excited to find out that Emma Watson would be playing the main role, they are still hungry for more information.

Recent rumors indicate that the film could introduce a few peculiar twists to the standard plot, and it may not follow the original formula all the way. How much exactly the story will deviate from what people already know is hard to tell, but it’s worth remembering that Disney’s previous “Beauty and the Beast” wasn’t an exact retelling if the story either.

That’s probably because the original folk tale would have been far too dark for a children’s film though, and Disney definitely made the right call changing the plot like that. We don’t know if the studio will try to target a more mature audience with the live-action version of “Beauty and the Beast”, or if the film will follow a similar formula to its animated counterpart, but the former would certainly be interesting to see.

What we know for sure from official reports is that the film will apparently try to focus more on the mythological aspect of the story that it’s telling, and fans can expect a deeper exploration of those concepts. This could align with the probability of seeing a grittier, more mature “Beauty and the Beast”, but it’s still not a complete confirmation.

Meanwhile, fans were also given an opportunity to check out how Emma Watson will look in her new stage costume, and it looks like the actress was a perfect cast for the role. Some were skeptical that Disney might have chosen her for her popularity and not so much because they believe she would be a good fit for the role, but it’s starting to look more and more like that’s not the case.

Plus, it’s hard to imagine a studio like Disney compromising the integrity of one of their productions, no matter which actor it’s about. The studio usually goes through some serious consideration before they even greenlight a new production in the first place, so the fact that they’ve decided to make “Beauty and the Beast” means that they also would not want to compromise anything about the film.

Those who’ve been hoping to see some creative traditional effects for the Beast’s character will probably be disappointed, as it’s been revealed that the creature is largely done through computer-generated effects. However, Ewan McGregor will still make an appearance as the “normal” form of the creature. Fans will have to wait until the end of the film to see that scene though, and for the most part they’ll be listening to his voice.

On that note, the actor claimed that this was a difficult role for him, mostly due to the accent involved. He sounded happy about the idea of finally being off the set.

These are the various details that have cropped up about “Beauty and the Beast” lately, and it looks like the film is shaping up very nicely behind the scenes overall. As we said above, information has been a bit scarce from official sources, but we expect to hear more about the film as 2017 approaches. Disney are always very active in their marketing, and they wouldn’t miss an opportunity to get their fans excited before the end of the year.
