The first official teaser for the Watson and Stevens starrer last May got 91.8 million views less than 24 hours after it dropped. The first official poster for the film was released in July.
Earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly debuted the first official image on the cover of their issue along with nine new stills from the movie.
Filming for “Beauty and the Beast” began in May 2015 in London and officially wrapped up in August of the same year.
Watson was the first actor announced to star in the live adaptation. Susan Egan, who originated the role of Belle on Broadway, commented on the casting of Watson as perfect, while Paige O’Hara, who voiced Belle in the animated film and its sequels, offered to help Watson with her singing lessons.
Just a few hours after the trailer was released, fans have already noted how the new clip reminisces the trailer for the animated film. Others have even posted both trailers side by side to see the comparison.
The comparison is evident with the opening scene zooming into the Beast’s castle. Some fans have noted that 25 years after the animated film came, the trailer is enough proof that the live adaptation will do it justice.
