‘Battlefield Hardline: Blackout’ Improves the Video Game’s Spectator Mode!

The latest DLC of the first-person shooter video game “Battlefield Hardline” officially arrived on November 3 and so far gamers are having the time of their lives playing the night version of the popular game.

Officially called “Blackout,” the DLC came to gamers of “Battlefield Hardline” on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC for free. The new content adds two pre-existing maps to the game, officially called the Night Job and Night Woods, which are the night versions of the Bank Job and the Backwoods maps, respectively, notes Gamereactor.

Typical with nighttime operations for police work, one important gadget would really come in handy, the night vision googles, which came with the DLC.

There are also two new key weapons in the free DLC. The first weapon is a revamped version of the R0933 while the second weapon is the new Battle Rifle.

“Blackout” has also brought new music, camouflage suits, positions and assignments, patches, and other stuff that are normally being purchased but already made free by the game developer. These are perhaps a way for both Visceral Games and EA to express its gratitude for the immense support and warm acceptance of fans and gamers on “Battlefield Hardline.”

Excellent lighting effects

Although the graphics of “Blackout” is not superb, considering that it’s a night setting, the remarkable ambient occlusion actually results to excellent lighting effects, which is the selling point of the free DLC. “Blackout” is actually urban warfare during the night, details the Venture Capital Post.

Some visual critics also noted that “Blackout” has improved the spectator mode of “Battlefield Hardline” and makes the game friendlier for Twitch streamers.

Incidentally, “Blackout” is not the first first-person shooter game to introduce nighttime as a game mechanic. Tom Clancy’s “Rainbow Six” is another popular first-person shooter video game that adopted it first.

“Rainbow Six” along with “Counter Strike” have popularized and set the standards for urban warfare in video gaming.

A busy November

Meanwhile, the “Battlefield Hardline” website has marked important dates in November for gamers to keep themselves engrossed in the game. Accordingly, the month is packed with reasons to enjoy the video game.
