‘Battlefield 1’ to Feature a Great Balance Between Aircraft and Ground Battle Stations, Assures Game Developer!

Air vehicles shall not be able to dominate anti-aircraft weapons in the upcoming first-person shooter video game “Battlefield 5” now officially called by game developer Digital Illusions Computer Entertainment (DICE) as “Battlefield 1.”

There were apprehensions by some multiplayer first-person shooter fans that the air units would be able to overwhelm the ground units in the game because of its obvious advantage but DICE Lead Level Designer Dan Berlin assured fans during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 last week that the development team has handled it quite well.

Berlin said that there is a balance between air and ground units in “Battlefield 1” and that regular rounds from anti-air, stationary weapons can actually damage airplanes, reports the PlayStation Lifestyle.

The designer said that “Battlefield 1” players can just sit in the flak guns and shoot at the airplanes going by.

He also explained that when players shoot regular rounds at airplanes going by, it would not damage the aircraft that much. However, when the aircraft is coming down for a bomb run, and players fire at them, they can do a ton of damage on the planes.

Berlin said that gamers can even take out the pilot of an airplane with a well-placed sniper shot, explaining further that it is their way of balancing the game.

He also said that there is also a bit of logic to it because an airplane high above the clouds is hard to hit compared to one that is going down to make an assault against ground units.

Berlin’s assurance of balance in “Battlefield 1” is a good news to gamers because they can be sure now that their World War I ground infantry can fight back in some capacity against aircraft instead of being like sitting ducks like they were in “Battlefield 4.”

Spectacular gameplay

DICE has already announced that “Battlefield 1” shall come out on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC on October 21.

While the game developer has shown a bit of a trailer during the E3 2016, it is not as long and as spectacular as the one recently posted by avid gamer and YouTube user jackfrags, notes Dual Shockers.

The gameplay trailer runs for over 20 minutes and has been upscaled to 4K in order to show the game at a higher bitrate, especially for those with 4K monitors.

The video post is now amassing significant views and it only heightened the excitement of fans for the official release of “Battlefield 1.”

Laying the groundwork for the rollout

Prior to the formal announcement of DICE, it was a Swiss video game retailer who confirmed that “Battlefield 1” is to be set during World War I.

Game publisher EA and DICE have promised more details in the weeks ahead leading to the release of “Battlefield 1” on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC.

Before the full version is released, DICE shall reportedly be rolling out the “Battlefield 1” beta, pre-load among other pre-requisites.

It could be recalled that back in 2013, EA and DICE released “Battlefield 4” that puts console gamers and PC players on huge battlefields with an arsenal of weapons, compelling equipment, powerful vehicles, and a destructive environment.

Although “Battlefield 4” had its fair share of problems, both the game developer and publisher worked hard to improve the game.

Last year, EA and DICE released “Battlefield: Hardline” that featured more of the same elements as that of “Battlefield 4.” Nonetheless, it featured cops and robbers in place of various military units.

Battlefield 5

There have been recent leaks that confirm previous rumors saying that “Battlefield 1” will take place during the World War I or an alternate history version of that conflict.

One of the leaks that came out featured an artwork which reportedly came from the upcoming first-person shooter video game showing a soldier armed with an early 20th-century pistol, a rifle, and a spiked trench club.
