‘Battlefield 1’ to Become Available for Pre-Loading on EA Origins Site One Week Before its Official Release Date to the PC and Gaming Consoles!

Game developer EA DICE has already confirmed that the first-person shooter video game “Battlefield 1” shall make its debut on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC on October 21.

“Battlefield 1” is set in an alternative World War 1 setting and shall feature a whole new set of user customization, combat features, and vehicles.

With less than two months to go for the official release date of the latest entry in the “Battlefield” video game franchise, gamers have started to get excited all the more.

Some of them even got more excited when EA DICE confirmed recently that the game can be pre-loaded on October 14 from the EA Origins website, or exactly one week before its official roll out to the gaming consoles and the PC.

The pre-load will give some gamers plenty of time, especially those who have a slow connection to download the game on their PC.

While the pre-load timings of “Battlefield 1” for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 have not been disclosed yet but gamers should expect details from EA DICE as the launch draws near, cites Gearnuke.

Incidentally, those who have early access can also play “Battlefield 1” beginning on October 18 or three days ahead of the rest of the players.

Open beta testing of ‘Battlefield 1’

“Battlefield 1” shall be undergoing an open beta testing this coming week, which will be used by the developer to generate player feedbacks.

EA DICE can implement some changes to the final game of “Battlefield 1” based on the feedbacks on the open beta testing that shall reportedly begin on August 30, instead of the earlier reported August 31, details Gamespot.

However, only those who have signed up for the Battle Insider program as of August 21 and those who have selected their platform of choice can get the early access code to “Battlefield 1” beta.

The code shall be delivered through e-mail but it does not appear that EA DICE has already sent them out as of today.

Gamers are still not aware until when the “Battlefield 1” would last assuming it begins next week.

Interestingly, EA has also released a beta for another of its games, entitled “Titanfall 2,” on August 26, so the game developer surely has its hands full in beta testing this coming week.

“Battlefield 1” comes out on October 21, while “Titanfall 2” lands on October 28. EA DICE said it does not have cannibalization concerns because the shooter market is so massive and each game is different.

A great balance between air and ground units

The game developer has confirmed recently that air vehicles shall not be able to dominate anti-aircraft artilleries or weapons in “Battlefield 1.”

There was apprehension by some multiplayer first-person shooter fans that the air units would be able to overwhelm the ground units because of its obvious advantage but EA DICE Lead Level Designer Dan Berlin assured fans during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 that they have handled it quite well.

Berlin said that there is a balance between ground and air units in “Battlefield 1” and that regular rounds from anti-air and stationary weapons can actually damage airplanes.

The designer said that “Battlefield 1” players can just sit in the flak guns and just shoot at the airplanes going by.

He also explained that when players shoot regular rounds at airplanes going by, it would not damage the aircraft that much. However, when the aircraft is coming down for a bomb run, and players fire at them, they can do a ton of damage on the plane.

Berlin said that gamers can even take out the pilot of an airplane with a well-placed sniper shot, explaining further that it is their way of balancing the game.

He also said that there is also a bit of logic to it because an airplane high above the clouds is hard to hit compared to one that is going down to make an assault against ground units.
