The first DLC to the first-person military shooter video game set during World War 1 entitled “Battlefield 1” will be going live this week and gamers are starting to get excited with reports that the update shall usher a Spectator Mode.
Accordingly, the addition of a Spectator Mode on “Battlefield 1” shall give viewers access to first- and third-person perspectives of the action as well as a bird’s eye-view and free-floating camera, reports the PC Gamer.
Game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts (EA) released “Battlefield 1” on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on October 21 so the first DLC is arriving nearly two months later.
EA explained that their goal in releasing the DLC is to improve the Spectator view from previous versions of “Battlefield.” The game publisher said that they have gathered feedback from the gaming community and focused much of their efforts in improving the usability and flow moving from player-to-player and switching between the different view modes.
The publisher also said that another key design emphasis for them was to make the Spectator Mode a viable tool for the community to create content which includes a moveable third-person camera, depth of field, and camera filters.
A complimentary map
Apart from the Spectator Mode, the DLC of “Battlefield 1” shall also come with a complimentary map to all of its players.
Those who preordered the game and those who bought the Premium Pass shall get their hands on the Grenade Crossbow-boasting map on December 13 while everyone else will get to grips with the new arena on December 20.
Prior to its launching, EA has been teasing the new gameplay map via a live stream.
Set during the Battle of the Selle’s Hundred Day Offensive, the “Battlefield 1” site actually describes it on its synopsis. Accordingly, British forces have broken through the Hindenburg line and are heading towards a strategic railway center. The outcome is uncertain but an armored train can still turn the tide.
The game’s truckload of weapons
Like its predecessor games, “Battlefield 1” also features a truckload of weapons which are classified among the game’s four classes, namely, Medic, Scout, Assault, and Support.
Because of the huge number of options available in each class, some gamers have discovered it to be a real challenge.
But iTech Post decided to pick the best one in its classes. Under the Medic class, the outlet mentioned that the best weapon is no other than the Selbstlader M1916 because it is a perfect balance weapon to own.
For the Support class, getting the M1909 Benet Mercie is perfect because it is considered the ideal gun to have because of its better fire rate and accurate sight.
For the Assault class, the M97 Trench Backbored is the best weapon because of its right mix of accurancy.
And for the Scout class, the Russain 1895 medium range rifle is considered as the ideal pick because Scouts need it especially if they happen to miss a single shot and want to take the enemy down quickly.
Just like any video game, “Battlefield 1” was not perfect as it came out with a couple of flaws, though not as major as most other games experience upon release.
Apparently, DICE and EA are all ears on the gamers so a new update is about to roll out to “Battlefield 1” soon though no exact release date has been given.
Last month, there were reports saying that both DICE and EA are working on a “Battlefield 1” update that would address the complaints and issues that were raised by players since the game was released on October 21.
