With all that we’ve seen during the development of “Battlefield 1”, it looks like EA are taking this release even more seriously than the previous games in the franchise. The series has evolved quite a lot, and its popularity is on a whole different level today compared to several years ago, so this attitude makes sense.
The only major question now for most fans is how the studio is going to handle the post-release content of the game. Clearly, “Battlefield 1” will benefit especially well from some extra maps and possibly weapons and other gadgets released later on, and we’re curious to see what EA are preparing in this regard.
Is this release going to inspire more World War 1-themed shooters? We’ve already seen a similar situation in the industry before, and the “Battlefield” and “Call of Duty” franchises have been major driving factors in the development of shooters in general.
It would definitely be great to see more activity in this direction, but at the same time, we suspect that EA and DICE are one of the few studios on the market that are truly capable of delivering an experience like this. It’s not easy to come up with a good World War 1 game, as we’ve already seen from “Battlefield 1” itself, and now other studios will also have to be careful not to get accused of copying EA’s new title, even partially.
Lets hope that the game will release and all will be normal. I have fears that we will have great problem with the luck of private servers.
