Battle between the Motorola Moto 360 and LG G Watch R, Former Gets the Android Lollipop 5.0.1 Update!

Presently, we have the wearable devices taking over the market. Let us take a look at the comparison between the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch R. Both the watches look stunning with their leather bands and stainless steel body. At first, we saw the Moto 360 and presently we have the LG G Watch R. Which one of them will stand out and win this battle? Will it be too close to call or will it be a tie? Let’s take a look.

In shape, both these devices are round, and they have a few things in common. Both of them run on the same 512MB RAM and come with 4GB of internal storage. They have the presence of a Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Accelerometer, Gyro, Heart Rate Monitors and compass. For added protection, they are both IP67 certified Water and Dust resistant. They have stainless steel bodies go along with it. They run on the same Android Wear platform but need a smartphone running Android 4.3 or greater in order to get initiated.

The Motorola Moto 360 has a rather minimalistic look, which is quite the recent signature of Motorola. It comes in the form of a smooth circle with only a single button on the right-hand side. The display has a small black patch at the back but other than it’s perfectly round. The device has a 1.56-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 320X290 pixels and a 205PPI pixel density.

Since it is an LCD display, the battery drains much faster when compared to the P-OLED design of the LG G Watch R. Motorola uses an older TI OMAP 3 processor, which is not as powerful as the Snapdragon 400 used in the LG device. What makes things worse for the Moto 360 is a smaller 320mAh battery compared to the 410mAh battery in the LG watch.

However, the Moto 360 can make use of wireless charging which is absent in the LG G Watch R. The Motorola Moto 360 has a pedometer, two microphones, an Ambient Light Sensor and can be purchased from Google Play Store at 249.99 dollars.

The G Watch looks more rugged and has a 320×320 display resolution with 245 ppi pixel density. The LG G Watch R can be bought from the Play Store at a price of 299 dollars. As a result, everything considered, the LG G Watch R is the winner of this comparison but costs $50 more.

However, when looking at the software platform, the Motorola’s popular Moto 360 has already started receiving the Android L 5.0.1 Lollipop update. As a result, if you prefer to remain updated, choosing the Motorola Moto 360 seems to be a good idea.
